Onions are base ingredients for almost all Indian dishes. Soaring prices of the vegetable have helped dislodge Indian state governments in the past, and rising food costs often spark street protests in a country where over 40 percent of the 1.2 billion population lives on under $1.25 per day.
1. Labourers load onions on a tractor trolley at a wholesale market in Lasalgaon, 224 km (139 miles) north of Mumbai.
2. An activist from India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), wearing a garland made of onions, shouts slogans during a protest in New Delhi.
3. Women sort onions at a wholesale market in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad.
4. A worker reads a newspaper in front of stacked sacks of onions and potatoes at a wholesale vegetable market in Jammu.
🍅⚠️(Sign petition, link in bio!)🚩"Our Temples do not belong to us. In most of the states, Governments have passed acts and legislations to take over Hindu institutions including Temples, Mutts and Endowments. This has enabled the Government to interfere in the Temples’ management, practices and rituals. Not just that, Temples’ properties and income have also been usurped by the Government. The most outrageous fact is that the Government exerts such a control exclusively on the Hindu Temples; the places of worship of other religions enjoy freedom and autonomy. This is a clear-cut case of systematic discrimination and harassment." "From education to ecology and culture to charity, Hindu Temples have played a pivotal role in shaping the Indian society. Today’s India has become a battleground for the clash of civilizations, and the Hindu society is facing an existential threat. The need to revive the Temple eco-system is more important than ever. But this cannot be achieved without freeing them from the clutches of the State." "The Government’s control over the Hindu Temples is unconstitutional and immoral. Hindu Temples belong to the Hindu society and the State must exit immediately."

Built in a flamboyant style and is considered the largest of its type in the state of Rajasthan, The City Palace - Udaipur, was built over a period of nearly 400 years.
With contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty, its construction began in 1553 on the east bank of Lake Pichola.
It was built atop a hill, in a fusion of the Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles, providing a panoramic view of the city and its surroundings.
Many landmarks of the complex are associated in popular culture with the filming of the 1983 James Bond movie Octopussy.
