Here are a few pics of the two cygnets that the daddy Mute Swan was protecting, back during the first week of July in Boise. I was having a hard time getting good lighting that day, but they’re cute anyway. 😜
Here is a photo of proud papa Mute Swan that I took along the Boise River in July. Isn’t he just handsome? He was making sure to chase off all of the Canada Geese if they got even REMOTELY close to his little family! Lol
INCOMING! Here is the shot that I missed...ugghh! It was so much fun watching these female Rufous Hummingbirds chase each other off the feeder, though! They were particularly aggressive, compared to the other females, and they buzzed right by my head a couple of times! 😳 Lol This was taken a couple of weeks ago in the Idaho mountains.
My last couple of weeks of photography seem to have been dominated by hummingbirds! 😍 This female Calliope was sweet enough to pose in the morning light for me on a camping trip a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE taking a feeder with me when I camp...I can watch them for hours!
We finally got to visit Freak Alley in Boise, Idaho, the largest outdoor gallery in the Northwest! We’ve been so excited to visit this rich display of murals, graffiti, and public art. We adore public murals and believe strongly in the value they bring to a community and a city.
We love that it allows fine art to be an experience that anyone can enjoy, regardless of your economic status. Art museums are amazing, but they can be elitist and skew towards the privileged. Murals are public art for everyone to enjoy. That. Is. Awesome.
Visiting murals with your kids is a great way to expose them to the diversity of fine art. Try it out with your little one. Go mural hunting and encourage them to explain what they see. Our wildling loves them and now whenever he sees one he screams “art!!”
Do you love murals as much as we do? Boise has tons of them and is actively bringing more to the community. Bravo!
Posting because @toastyhug assures me he’d “double tap that”

I had to do one more photo from Freak Alley in Boise, Idaho because…look at this little feller.
We took him to an outdoor gallery and while he enjoyed the art, he really just wanted to jump over things. #letthembekids
We are enjoying Boise and headed out to the state capital to check out @buy_idaho.
Here’s my first lesson on Boise, Idaho. Did you know you’re probably saying it wrong? It’s not boy-zee, but rather boy-see. You can now casually drop that word in to conversation, knowing you’re saying it right. #themoreyouknow Check out more photos from Freak Alley in our stories. 🎨
