What’s your nutrition plan right before during and post run or race? It amazes me when I go out with a group, how many runners don’t take anything! Not even water on their long runs. It may work for them or they may not even realize their performance is lacking on the back half of their run. Pre run I like to get in some carbs and water or sports drink ( my personal fav is the GU tri berry hydration tabs) before every run no matter the distance. If my runs are longer than 6miles/10k I’ll bring water. More than 10miles/16miles I’ll bring a half a litre of GU tri berry and 1 gel to have at the midway point. On a long run I bring more to drink, stash it or fill my bottles up somewhere and I’ll take 2 gels. You want to try and mimic what you’ll do during your race. Drink every 2-3k/2miles and gel every 40ish minutes. Nothing is set in stone and you have to trial and error to see what works for you. Post run after you’ve stretched get in a mix of carbs and proteins. Did you know @guenergylabs makes more than just energy gels and hydration tabs. They have a whole line of products that will keep you preforming at your highest level. First day in Boston was filled with a brewery tour in the Seaport District and chocolate chip cannolis at the famous Mike’s Pastry Shop. 🤤
