It’s almost the most dreaded time of year: flu season. The flu is a tough bug to kick and takes the fun out of everything. Unfortunately, up to 20% of the U.S. population will get the flu. Here are some tips on preventing the contraction of the virus: •Get Vaccinated
Influenza is the only respiratory virus preventable by vaccination. •Keep Hands Clean
Wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer often. •Cover Your Mouth and Nose
Always cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue away after use and clean your hands. •Don't Touch Your Face
This is the easiest way for germs to gt inside your body. •Smile
Studies show that smiling can help boost your immune system. •Eat Right
Eating healthy, balanced meals can strengthen your immune system. •Exercise
It boosts your immune system and speeds recovery from illness. •Stay Home
If you become ill, stay at home and avoid contact with others until your fever is gone for 24 hours without
using fever-reducing medicine.
If you feel any flu like symptoms, it’s important to see your doctor and discuss a plan as soon as possible.
Our Jenks location will be opening at noon to join in on the festivities of the Craft of Q barbecue contest.

TULSA FACT - in 1907, Tulsa produced more oil than any other state in the United States, or any other country in the world. Formally known as a “small railroad stop”, Tulsa then became the undisputed “Oil Capital of the World,” a moniker the city retained for more than six decades.
HAPPY 918 DAY! Fun Tulsa fact:
Clinton Riggs, a Tulsa police officer, invented the “yield” road sign, first testing his creation by posting a sign at the corner of First Street and Columbia Avenue in 1950. Car accidents decreased, and the signs spread throughout Tulsa, America, and the world. When Riggs died in 1997, a yield sign was engraved onto his tombstone.
HAPPY 918 DAY!
What’s your favorite spot in Tulsa? One of ours is Guthrie Green - a great example of the successful conversion of a blighted industrial site into a vibrant urban community space that helps drive economic development in a formerly sleepy downtown neighborhood.
Looking out on the foliage of Guthrie Green, it is hard to imagine it was once an industrial site. The park fills one square block and features a stage, The Dock pavilion, tree-lined paths, shady structures, water features, and a large lawn used for year-round community programming.
The transformation came about through the efforts of the George Kaiser Family Foundation and its community partners.
In 2009, the foundation began work on what would become Guthrie Green, engaging Creative Community Builders to help community stakeholders craft a vision for their neighborhood to inform the development of several projects. This process resulted in a plan adopted by the City of Tulsa as a Small Area Plan in 2013.
Once a location for heavy industry, the site of Guthrie Green has been completely transformed into a demonstration project for green technology. Water runoff is treated through bioswales that allow absorption of the water into the landscape. LED lighting and solar panels help reduce electricity demand, and 150 wells serve ground-source heat pumps at the neighboring Tulsa Paper Company and Hardesty Visual Arts Center, reducing the cost of heating and cooling 120,000 square feet of nonprofit space.
Installing the wellfield required the removal of 12 underground fuel tanks; reclamation of the dirt; and two EPA Brownfields Training, Research, and Technical Assistance Grants totaling $975,000.
A key element of Guthrie Green’s success is its programming. The George Kaiser Family Foundation and its partners developed an intensive programming plan to attract people to Guthrie Green every day. There are weekly concerts, daily fitness activities, children’s activities, and a variety of festivals. Guthrie Green opened in September 2012 and has since been a catalyst for the redevelopment and adaptive of reuse of the industrial and traditional commercial buildings within the Brady Historic Dist

Happy 918 Day! One of our favorite parts of Tulsa is the gorgeous architecture. The Philtower (pictured) is a historic building located at 427 South Boston Avenue. It was built in 1928, and with 24 floors is the 10th tallest building in Tulsa.

Celebrating you! Thank you for your love, loyalty and devotion since 2007!!
Did you know that 80% of Tulsa’s businesses employ fewer than 10 people, and 90% of local employment is in smaller companies, according to the Tulsa Regional Chamber? Which means that there’s a great reason for Tulsa being all about growing local, small business! We’re full of it! Additionally, the average income level of Tulsa residents is 11% above the national average, while the cost of living in Tulsa is 4% below the national average.
So HAPPY 918 DAY, TULSA! Thanks for being amazing!
Confession time: Not a single one of our employees was born or raised in Tulsa. However - every single one of our employees came to this city for one reason or another and loved it so much they stayed, regardless of what may try to pull them back to their “roots.” We MADE new roots here - why?
Because, in a nutshell, this city is amazing! Watching Tulsa grow from a small town to a large town while maintaining that small town feel has been incredible. So many businesses that wouldn’t have a chance in other places, so many people in the community wanting to support all things local, so many opportunities for the younger generations that just aren’t available in other places!
Sure, it isn’t perfect - where or what is? But the people of Tulsa genuinely care about one another which is shown daily. We’re proud to now be able to say “we’re from Tulsa, Oklahoma”
HAPPY 918 DAY!

If you are having problems with animals getting into your living area. For example your living room, bedroom, kitchen. You may have a faulty chimney cap. If you have this issue, call a wildlife professional to inspect immediately.
What do you do when you only got three and a half hours of sleep the night before? Drink your morning coffee from your grumpy -but- gorgeous mug and daydream of staying curled up in bed! That’s where I’m at today, but I’m also thankful for another day!! #reallife#captureah#ah ...
Got mice??? Most houses have a gap where the facia board meets the brick. This is prime real estate for a mouse to enter. If you have mice, take a walk around your house and see if you have these gaps.

I still can’t believe it. How am I already this old? Where did time go?! Idk but to tell you I feel loved is an understatement. The intentionality from so many of my friends + family has been OVERWHELMING. The Lord has truly blessed me with amazing friends from each and every stage of my life.
I said it at the beginning of this year, and I’ll say it as I come into my 26th year of life....this year is my year. I’ve seen God continue to allow me to be PRUNED. Basically, getting me to the point where I am on my knees, broken, telling him, “I have no idea what to do or where to go, God. But I trust You. I trust You. I trust You. I trust You.”
Knowing that I have been in this season of PRUNING, means soon...I will be in a season of FRUIT. (John 15 for reference) And I am slowly seeing the fruits of His labor and I CANNOT WAIT to see the bigger things He has in store for me. Plans for a HOPE and a FUTURE. Here’s to what the future holds, fam🥂 May it be filled with BEAUTIFUL FRUIT! Intentionality! Lots of love! And maybe a cute cowboy, too😜😂🤠🤷🏼♀️❤️
