Luxury doesn't have to be expensive! Let me say that again, Luxury does NOT have to expensive!
Here's the thing, good design doesn't need a heavy price tag. It's OK to style a room with affordable items like my $19 @kmartaus wall art and then mix it up with pricey pieces like my @adairs $70 cushion. (I know garl, $70!!😪 but is was soooooooo worth it. I mean, look at it 🥰 just don't tell hubby!🤭) hahaha!
I guess what I'm saying is, don't be afraid to colour outside the lines. Mixing things up has never been boring.😉 If you are trying to create a space that feels authentic and lived in, BREAK THE RULES!
On a side note, you know it's gonna be a great day when you leave your bedroom looking like this on a weekday🙌💃🍾 God knows it's a rare occasion for us goal digging, dream-chasing, hard-working boss mamas 💁♀️Drop me an AMEN below if you're with me!😁

Painting is almost completed! Then on to the underpinning!
Good things come to those who wait. Right? Well sometimes. But more often, good things come to those who hustle.
When I truly go after my goals that is when things happen!
When I plan every detail of a lesson, my 2nd graders are more engaged.
When I eat healthy food I feel better.
When I drink water I don't feel bloated from retention.
When I workout, I lose weight and have more energy.
When I take time to work, I see results in my business.
When I focus on my husband and kids, our relationships are stronger.
What goals are you ready to work for???
Looking less and less like my little baby every day, please tell me again how it’s even possible that I will have a 2 year old next month? Time just needs to slow down a bit so this Mama’s heart can catch up.
Starting off with a cleeean slate ✨. After months & months of working around each other’s schedules + indecisiveness + going back & forth between furniture stores/ideas. We finally decided on dining furniture that we love 🙌. Note that this isn’t the finished project! We’re just starting up this page again & are really trying to get better at taking/posting progress pics! (ps: Dovah approves 😉🐾♥️)
Mid week + the bedroom doors start to be closed to block out the toys scattered everywhere. Even with all of the bins + organizing I have done to make it for easy cleanup, stuff seems to just find its way to the floor... how do you keep your kids rooms organized and clean?
P L A S T E R I N G ... in the kitchen is complete 🎉 This stage is so amazing and it finally feels like an actual room now😂 we had a very good plasterer and are so happy with the results👏🏼 (please ignore the remaining mess) •
🌿 Almost forgot to pop a picture of the new dining Table up. It’s the Horsen from @diamondfurniture_dublin in Dark Ash
As much as I half loved our other table, this is so much much practical and easy to keep clean 😉
Standing in our dining room! Can’t wait to see these views everyday 😍 About to be posting progress on the daily!

//FLOOR PLAN REVIEW// I know it looks like my 3-year-old went colour crazy on mummy's floor plans😅but I guarantee you that this little exercise will save you from major electrical errors.
Before finalising your electrical layout with your builder, print off a set of your working drawings and draw all your big furniture pieces on the electrical plan to scale. Once you have done this, you can easily confirm if any power points need to be relocated, added or adjusted to suit the furniture placement.
Another great tip is to use different coloured pens to mark the light switch locations and GPO's on your plans. This makes it easy for you to remember which points and switches you have checked.😉 If you have new points or lights to add, use a different colour pen so that your builder can easily identify your additions or amendments.
Found this helpful? Double-tap to like or drop me a comment below if you have any electrical plan questions.😊 I'd love to hear from you!
Closing is scheduled for next Friday
Still quite a few things to get accomplished by then and we caught a couple of mistakes today. Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we dont have contractors in our house fixing things for the next couple of months
It’s not even 9 am yet. Lord help me. #tuesdayyouaintcute so hard today. Got everybody and all our things in the car, right on track to get to school on time. Realize I don’t have my keys but the front door is locked. Then realize, after two years of not having a house key, remembered just last week my husband took the spare without replacing it because he figured he should have a key now. (Trying so hard not to blame the following on him, Lord give me your grace). So. I break into my home through the AC unit window. While moving it I realize there is a snake INSIDE the unit. Y’all I am TERRIFIED of snakes!! Full body reaction of pure fear takes over. Big, small, poisonous or not. I hate them!! They are all Satan in my Christian upbringing eyes!! So I naturally scream profanities and shove the unit into the house. Now I don’t know if the snake is in the house or still in the unit. But like any good mother, I recruit my skinny 4 year old to climb through the window. Obviously not letting her in on why she just watched from the car, me scream, flail and do an odd version of the running man.
Officially late for school now. We have keys and then proceed to follow an old man in a cute truck v e r y s l o w l y ... clearly has no plans for his day. I wonder what it’s like to be that care free?
Oh and then Lizzy had a tic crawling on her. So we had to find a place to safely stop on the winding backroads to fix that issue.
This style tile going in the shower area of our wet rooms. I went with the same style in both the bathroom & ensuite. We will see some serious progress over the coming weeks as lots happening #bathroom#bathroomdecor
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Sorry for the lack of updates. My mum's been ill, but she's out of hospital now so 👍
Thanks to suggestions from @robin_at_the_old_pound_barn I've been creating mood boards for each room online. It has definitely helped us to make decisions, and helped me to dream I'm not living in a Caravan.
🌿 Thank you for all the positive messages on the little house tour, and hello to all the new eyes on here. I’m slightly overwhelmed by all the messages and I’m trying to get through them so bare with me.
Will try and get upstairs done tomorrow and all is saved onto my highlights xxx
Still pondering over lighting in our powder room.. How gorgeous is this little chandelier from @potterybarnaus 😍✨

New home, new adventure, new memories! 🏡 🔑
We started building a house 6 months ago and yesterday we got the keys!
Evelyn has been having so much fun running around the big empty house, but today we are getting supplies to toddler proof some areas, including the stairs! This girl just wants to climb, climb, climb!
𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲/𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠! 🙏🏻
Consider this one loose end that has been tied! I've given that open and ugly space the side eye for weeks now and I'm so happy to see it filled! This picture was before we added the trim, but it's still a hundred times more beautiful than studs and the fireplace insert!
If you’ve been following along on my stories you saw that yesterday we got a nice little surprise when we drove past our land. They broke ground! Today, we stopped by on our lunch break and this much has happened since yesterday. We are so excited🏡 #thedecorspot#homebuildingjourney#newhomeconstruction

Hubby got all the bathroom tile finished 🙌🏻
It's hard to tell in the picture, but these beauties are the most gorgeous shade of blue! I tend to be scared of color so I was real proud of myself for picking a colored tile *pats self on back 😌
This is the powder room off the hallway to the garage entry and kitchen!
So here it is. This is is the Automated Home 2.0. We started working on our plans back in January of 2017. Our architects 2020 produced this render of the building and while it's a little idealistic in regards to the setting (and that glass to window frame ratio), it does give an idea of what we are going for. Read the latest blog post for more renders and details…
