Tamale season is finally here! 🤗 I grew up eating tamales 2 to 3 times a year during the holidays and special occasions. But even though I helped my family assemble them, I was never the one who actually seasoned and prepared the ingredients. As I’ve gotten older and discovered my love of cooking (hello, food blog!😊) I've been wanting to document the family recipe so that I could pass it along to future generations. So recently I spent a day with my Mom and wrote down everything she did throughout the tamale-making process. I went home, recreated the recipe the next day and guess what? It worked!
Over on the blog I'm sharing my mom's easy to make masa for tamales recipe. This tamale dough is the base layer my family uses in all types of savory tamales, from red pork to green chicken and even rajas (green chile and cheese).

Bring on posole season! 💃🏻 This traditional Mexican stew is made with tender pork and hominy cooked in the absolute best red chile broth. A bowl of this is so hearty and comforting, I promise it'll warm you up from the inside out!
The best part about pozole are all the toppings! My personal favorites are cabbage, cilantro, dried oregano, sliced radishes and freshly squeezed lime juice. JUST THE BEST!
