A Breakfast Soirée
So...it’s day 836 of quarantine, but it’s also Memorial Day. This holiday usually signals the beginning of summer, as we would normally be grilling, traveling, at the beach, or spending time with friends and family....OUTSIDE. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has changed that for us this year. Depending on your outlook, this fact can either be disappointing or refreshing. If you are struggling, today is a great day to check in with yourself! (Yes, that’s a thing). Take an inventory of how you have been feeling, and if necessary find ways to bring some joy to this day....and hopefully every day thereafter. 🧡✨ I’ll share some of the things I’ve been doing in my story if you need some inspiration 😉! #mentalhealthawareness#savortoday#inspiration#mentalhealth#selfcheckin#introspection#wellness#wellnessadvocate#therona#coronaviruschronicles#2020

Coronavirus Chronicles on Film
My mad scientist look 😬. Besides the overgrowth of hair, this stay at home order has also added some baby fat back. I joke that 2 lbs. of that gain is from the extra hair that has not been trimmed since Feb 29. The stay at home mandate started March 20. It has been 67 days of mostly home cooked/prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Today, I begin a 30-day low carb regimen. It will be hard to fully give up rice and the occasional pasta/noodle dishes. So I may need to have some brief forays to some rice, ramen, or pancit every so often. I will also need to increase my walking activity. I have been doing 20 minutes lunchtime and 30 minutes in the late afternoon/early evening.
Day seventy one... the prettiest week of the stay at home order. Wish it lasted longer. #coronaviruschronicles

Coronavirus Chronicles: Day 74
We had a super Sunday complete with a fun family porch-trait which is part of the #frontstepsproject where we had these awesome pix taken. We were thrilled with how they turned out and happily donated to the @vanfoodbank as part of this community driven initiative.
We have a beautiful family and we love these three kiddos with all of our hearts. Truly our lives best work. We're so proud of what great kids they are and love being their Mama and Dada. 😘
We love our fur baby Miga very much too. 🐾
Another wine and paint nite for the books! Listen, I’m adding ‘artist’ to my bio now!! Due to the ‘rona and lack of ‘outside’ options, I was able to join another virtual wine and paint session in my building...which was a struggle as you would see lol! (please don’t ask me what exactly we were trying to paint...they said abstract painting 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️) ⠀
Not to brag or anything but at this rate (being the natural that I am), I might host my own wine night (just wine, no paint) 😁😂🍷🍷⠀

Di ricongiungimenti, fase 2b, sorrisi dietro la mascherina e bouganville in fiore.
Had a nice little Saturday lined up. Ran a few errands including curb side pickup at @jnzdeli for some Pork of the Loin as Muffin calls it.
Muffin wanted to be twinsies today so of course I happily obliged. Very refreshing compared to the quaranteenager that hides under a blanket when I try to take his picture. 🙄
This also applies to you ignorant, inconsiderate rude pieces of shit out there who willfully ignore science and medicine. To the ones who think this is a joke, I hope you get to stay wrapped up in your stupidity. Because the only way to come out of it is to live the truth and that means getting yourself or someone you love sick. And I don't wish that on anyone... But FUCK YOU . C'mon lemme breathe on you, we'll quarantine together. #IgnoranceKills#CoronaVirusChronicles

Day sixty nine...the quarantine kids... last day kids would have been in school. Bring on summer!! #coronaviruschronicles
Today we boarded a train from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang. Andy has a former coworker whose family still lives there and it was highly recommended to us to wait out the virus outbreak. I was happy to once again be getting away from the din of the city and the constant motorbike traffic. The scenery quickly changed from dirty urban landscape to colorful tropical paradise as we rolled past orchards of dragonfruit, pineapple and coconuts. We saw rice fields with giant water buffalos lumbering around 🐃
At one of our stops, there a flurry of activity as workers from the platform hopped on the train to load the passenger car with dozens of baskets filled with produce to be delivered somewhere else down the line. As the train pulled away, some of the crew had to hustle to hop from the moving train. When we arrived in Nha Trang, we were wearing our masks. People looked at us like we were crazy, infected, or both as we realized that no one else was wearing them here. We didn’t notice any businesses shut down, either. With the sunny skies and ocean breeze, we feel good about our decision to come here 🌞 🌊 #vietnam#nhatrang#coronaviruschronicles#theswanderers
Новое Святилище открыли на площади святого Марка в Венеции, Италия. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The new Sanctuary was opened on the saint Mark's square in Venice, Italy.

“Thursday Evening Plans” - I sometimes get questions on what cigars to choose, spirits to buy, or books to pick up. “The Rona” situation has given me more time to attempt my hand at tracking and documenting things of personal interest. Im going to try and regularly post my bad habits (smoking, enjoying drinks, buying clothes/shoes) mixed with my good habits (reading, writing, finding music, dad-ing).
Today’s Selection includes:
Cigar - Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Presidente
Drink - Basil Hayden (neat)
Book - Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle (it’s more pictures than text. It’s about his art work)
How is my quarantine fam doing?! 👀👋🏻 I have shifted to WFH (working from home) and I’m just beginning to understand the pro’s and con’s of having my dining room table function as my office desk and my living room simultaneously serving as a Pilates studio 💪🏼🏠. Ironic timing as our world is slowly starting to re-open. I personally don’t feel ready to jump back into society as I need to do some dissertation hibernation 📝💻 (I was supposed to walk in graduation last week but still have some writing to wrap up). Also, because the idea makes me anxious 😟 . How are all of you feeling? Ready to come out of the gates running 🏃🏼♀️? Going to ease into the shallow end 🥴? I’ve been working on some new projects that I’m excited to share with you all later this week! 🎉
P.S. This photo was taken on my last night out before Covid19 took our planet by storm ⛈🦠🆘. #drdevphd#wfhlife#coronaviruschronicles
Celebrating our wedding anniversary today despite the #coronavirus chaos that has changed so much of our lives and canceled or postponed so many important life moments.
I met Bill 29 years ago on a blind date and we've been together ever since. Married for 22 years. My how time flies when you're with your ride or die partner.
We ordinarily toast this occasion on our spring break, but given travel bans and social distancing, we'll create our own sunshine and memories right here at home!
Somehow we managed to not only find my wedding dress and Bill's tux but they fit (barely) #Miracle ! Flip to see lots of silly photos.
There is a special place in my heart on our anniversary for the brides, grooms and families whose weddings are being canceled or postponed due to #covid_19 .
So remember in spite of these uncertain times...
Anniversaries will not be canceled.
Relationships will not be canceled.
Love will not be canceled.
Hope will not be canceled.
Let me know what milestone or occasion you're not canceling during this challenging time or one that you've had to reschedule or postpone. #HappyAnniversary#CoronavirusChronicles
PS Anniversary dinner at home thanks to take out from one of our local faves @brasa_rotisserie
