Forget the Premier league, Magdoub #Darfur is where the quality happens

A sharp depreciation of the local #currency , hyperinflation, and fuel and #food shortages triggered the pro-democracy #protests in December. An estimated 5.7 million people are facing food shortages across the country, according to government figures. The military, which has profited from the wars, will be in no hurry to embrace peace. That could potentially include cutting separate deals outside the transition to frustrate the new government. The Sudan’s three marginalised regions have suffered the military’s scorched earth campaigns. In Darfur alone between 200,000 and 300,000 people were killed and 2.7 million displaced. #Darfur displaced civilians said the security situation has not changed despite the regime change in Sudan accusing the government #militias of continuing attacks and violations of #humanrights . The cost of the US humanitarian #assistance to #SouthSudan has reached over $4.5 billion since the #war began in December 2015. A bipartisan group of senators have called on U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to urgently appointed a special envoy to South Sudan to follow closely the stalled implementation of the peace agreement. Washington has strongly criticized the agreement in Entebbe on November 11th between President Salva Kiir and his main #peace partner Riek Machar to postpone the formation of the national unity transitional government for more 3 months. #WorldWar#CivilWar#Power#Control#Greed#Corruption#Abuse#Neglect#Genocide#Famine#WarCrimes#Murder#ViolenceAgainstWomen#Africa#TheMotherLand
Did you know that #diarrhea is the second largest killer of #children under five in #Sudan ? #UNICEF says “60% of these cases are attributable to factors essentially originating from poor management of human excreta”. Teaching #sanitation and #hygiene practices in our villages is very important, and an ongoing part of our #water project. Water committees in our villages are trained in the construction of latrines, and their importance in warding off #disease and #illness so they can teach their communities.

Darfur is Dying is a web-based, viral video game that provides a window into the experience of the 2.5 million refugees in the Darfur region of Sudan. It is designed to raise awareness of the genocide taking place in Darfur and empower college students to help stop the crisis.
Darfur is Dying helps make activism intuitive in the digital age. Action items are embedded within the game, so that the user may send an automated note to President Bush to support the people of Darfur, or petition Congress to pass legislation that aids Darfur’s refugees, and by doing so increase the overall health of the camp. To further enhance the reach of the game, Darfur is Dying was designed to be spread virally. Players can contact everyone in their email address books and social networks about the game with a click of the mouse.

We remember Kristallnacht, the night of broken glass.
On this day, in 1938, Jewish homes, hospitals, schools and synagogue were demolished. Over 90 Jews were murdered, over 7000 Jewish businesses were vandalized and destroyed and over 30000 Jewish men were arrested and placed in concentration camps.
Kristallnacht lasted only 48 hours, but it left a huge scar on humanity that must not he forgotten.
Today we remember all genocide and hate-crime victims in Armenia, Europe, Cambodia, Rwanda, Serbia, Burma...etc.
Look at our new little #goat kids - how precious are they?!? Wouldn’t you like to give the gift of goats this Christmas?
Give your #children , #friends , #parents and more, Goat Gift Certificates this holiday season, and their little goat will go help a child in Darfur, #Sudan who is in real need.
The perfect way to celebrate the spirit of giving - what #Christmas is all about!

These new clinics have allowed us to access at-risk populations, bringing them a wide range of health services in some of the most remote areas of the world. We’re still doing what we do best – running clinics, nutrition programs, and water, sanitation and hygiene services – but in more places than ever before. #wearealight#dothedoable

Great to speak at the Darfur Women Action Group Women & #genocide symposium again. I focused my remarks on the need to bring civil society and diaspora organizations together across the region. It can't just be one country fighting for #peace and security. We need partnership! #genprev#Sudan#Darfur#humanrights#peacebuilding
