I wanted to post this pic earlier this week as a #tbt , and then again on Friday as a #fbf but with all the craziness of my family visiting, the days just got away from me but is has been SOO worth it 🤪❤️If the truth be told, I really wanted to post this picture when I took it on November 3rd but my nerves got the best of me wondering what people would say or think about the pic and most of all criticize the way I look 😬
Today IDGAF what anyone thinks. This is me at 32 weeks pregnant after finishing one of my workouts which I was very passionate about throughout my entire pregnancy. People constantly asked me why I was working out so much and I was always hesitant to share the real reason. I felt like if I shared my why, I would just get unsolicited advice from people, and at the end of the day I just wanted to do things my way without having to listen to anyone’s opinions.
⚠️So here’s my real why ⚠️
My first pregnancy resulted in a c-section 😩 The recovery was super hard/long and it took me FOREVER to feel like my old self again 😖 I later found out that there were several things I could have done DURING my pregnancy that would have helped result in a different outcome and when I got pregnant again I wanted to make sure I did everything within my power to have the best chances for a VBAC.
A major contributor was overall health and wellness 💪🏼
I did not workout 1 day during my first pregnancy (literally not 1) and gained over 60 lbs 😬 I later found out anything over 50lbs doubles your chances for a c-section and coupled with my weak core (from not working out obvi) I’m not surprised that was the result.
The day I found out I was pregnant this time I told myself I was going to keep as normal of a workout routine as I could which not only helped me reach my birth plan goals but also gave me more energy throughout my pregnancy - go figure 🤷🏼♀️
Was I perfect every day? Not at all, but I showed up and pressed play even if I had to scale the mess out of the entire thing! When it was all said and done, home girl got her VBAC and it was worth every last drop of sweat 🙌🏼 Now I cannot wait to start working out again on Monday!!
Flashback to our international sales awards held at our headquarters in Green Bay, WI. Some highlights: A workshop with Paul M. Neuberger, President of The Starr Group , which left us all thinking deeper about the “why” behind what we do. Keynote speaker Jamie Clarke, who is one of a small handful of people to have achieved climbing the Seven Summits -including two summits at Mt. Everest. He is a captivating storyteller with high energy, humor, and palpable passion. And Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA, LEED AP, IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, who moderated a panel discussion on community as strategy. ⠀⠀
Just an incredible 3 days, and I’m so grateful to be working with a team of people who are so dedicated, motivated, and compassionate. Cheryl couldn’t have said it any better. “KI is in the business of community” and I’ve found my tribe. #fbf#kiiscommunity#ism2020#yourvibeattractsyourtribe
