Or pop me an email if you're thinking about having me document your big day! 2020 is upon us and I'd love to be part of it before it fills up. 😊
It's December 5th, so 5th day of my log! Last post for my nuclear family and saved the best for last!
Day 5: Father
My dad's honestly the most wonderful, hardworking individual I know! A true inspiration for the rest of us! Plus, he's the only one who shares the same taste in food as me in the family 😍🍔🍣 But I know for a fact I'll never have the amount of degrees he has 😂
In Hair Love...”It's up to Daddy to give his daughter an extra-special hair style in this ode to self-confidence and the love between fathers and daughters, from former NFL wide receiver Matthew A. Cherry and New York Times bestselling illustrator Vashti Harrison.
Zuri's hair has a mind of its own. It kinks, coils, and curls every which way. Zuri knows it's beautiful. When Daddy steps in to style it for an extra special occasion, he has a lot to learn. But he LOVES his Zuri, and he'll do anything to make her -- and her hair -- happy.
Tender and empowering, Hair Love is an ode to loving your natural hair -- and a celebration of daddies and daughters everywhere.” ————————————-—————–—————————————
I have been natural all of my life. For the longest I didn’t even know how to do my own hair. My mom was the sole guardian of my unruly mane. I remember there were times at school where a hair tie would snap and none of my teachers, who were black women, had ever dealt with natural hair. With their relaxed, straight, silky hair, my head must’ve seemed like a gargantuan task. No one could do my hair like my mom. My mom is a flight attendant and sometimes she’d be gone for days. On one fateful day, my mom was away on a trip and my twists had come undone. Here comes my father to the rescue. Hair Love really speaks to me and I hope it speaks to other father-daughter, natural hair relationships. Your mane is your crown 💕
The short film for Hair Love is out now! Link in bio💫
