Fare thee well... The Regimental Sergeant Major, WO1 Turner brings the Royal Dragoon Guards to attention for the last time as he hands over the Blackthorn and with it the post of RSM to WO1 Bradley.
With a career spanning over two decades, WO1 Turner has firmly embedded himself within the history books of the Regiment.
His professionalism and strength of character have earned him the respect and admiration of this Regiment and many others besides.
But... this is no obituary, it is the turning of a page to a new chapter. WO1 Turner is soon to post and will endeavour to return to the Regiment as a Late Entry Commissioned Officer in the future.
WO1 Bradley now takes up the mantle and the Regiment is excited to crack on and tackle the major exercises, deployments and inevitable curveballs of the future under the CO, Lt Col Davey and RSM, WO1 Bradley.

The Trabant was one of the most iconic symbol of the Cold War. The Trabant’s production ran from 1963 to 1990 with over 2,800,000 being produced in East Germany. As the Cold War draws to a close and Germany began it’s reunification process, the Trabant became an icon of the disparity of the two German States. While the West German capitalists created brands like Mercedes Benz and BMW, the Trabant was seen as a car that is stuck in the 60s and with it the East German State. In sync with the destruction of the East German State, millions of Trabants were left abandoned and destroyed following the reunification of Germany.
Note to self... don’t climb up a statue on a hot day, shimmy across a small; high up path and then sit down for a photo. I couldn’t get back up as the metal was too hot, and then couldn’t slide across either as there wasn’t enough space 😂 safe to say I won’t be doing it again!
