“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”
— Psalms 46:1-3, NIV -
Hey you 💕
Remember that your confidence needs to come from God.
Compliments are nice but don’t let them define you. Where there are compliments, there’s also criticism, and it’s way easier to buy into the things others will say you’re not verses what they say you are.
We must be steadfast in seeking who HE says we are because He is never changing.
Our looks will change, our lives will look different in the seasons, and our possessions will come and go.
Who you are, your worth, isn’t because any of these things.
He says I am loved, chosen, free, purposeful, forgiven, included, empowered, and members of His body (Ephesians).
Soak in His never ceasing love for you. 💕

How many times do we do this? How often do I slide into the nonsense that God’s pissed of with me as soon as I’m struggling with my ongoing back pain, or rushing to the bathroom mid movie thanks to the after effects of my cancer?
I constantly need to remind myself of this truth and that God is good even when life isn’t.
Maybe you need that reminder as well today.
You are loved ❤️

Who does God say you are?⠀
You may have seen the “Godly Affirmations” Instagram effect we made. We made it from a place of love + fun and encourage you to try it out!⠀
But the real heart behind it is way deeper than some gimmicky Instagram effect that randomizes a few affirmations found in the bible. ⠀
The truth is, we forget who God says we are more often than we realize. ⠀
We forget who we are in Him through Christ the minute we compare our lives - whether online or in person - to someone else’s.⠀
We forget His promises for us the second we take matters in our own hands, only to end up empty handed.⠀
When we feel down and lost, worthless and hopeless, we forget who he says we are. ⠀
David Platt, author of “Radical,” shared something on his most recent sermon that was a kairos moment for me. ⠀
As he was breaking down Psalm 8 verse by verse he got to verse 5: “Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.”⠀
David said this: “You stand like THIS before GOD! Contrary to what science would tell us, we are NOT just a little above animals, we are created just a little lower than ANGELS - a little lower than GOD Himself!”⠀
You are crowned with glory and honor - and so is everyone around you.⠀
He also says that you are:⠀
“CHOSEN” Ephesians 1:4-6⠀
“A MASTERPIECE” Ephesians 2:10⠀
“WORTHY” Zephaniah 3:17⠀
“REDEEMED” Romans 6:6⠀
“FREE” Galatians 5:1⠀
“COMPLETE” Colossians 2:10⠀
…And many other things!⠀
So whether you use the effect or not we hope that you remind yourself of who God says you are and take time to chew on these verses. They WILL transform you.

What do #faith and #fitness have to do with each other? "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;" (1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV)
Being overweight limited my activity
Mission trips I couldn't attend
Service opportunities I couldn't join
Obesity affects your faith walk in many ways!
The impact of obesity in my daily life
40 pounds ago I couldn't do a lot of things or I didn't want to do a lot of things... 😲 Get on the floor to play with my kids. #M#momfail 😲 Go on a hike with my family. # #familytime 😲 Sleep on my back or lay flat.barrassing). #marriagegoals 😲 Sleep on my back or lying flat.
😲 Tie my shoes without needing a rest. #weightlossmotivation
I could go on ALL day about the ways obesity affected my daily life. Impacted my parenting and my marriage... More than that though, because I have spent so long hiding from people, for shame about my body, I've missed opportunities to share #godslove with people.
Again, Obesity affects your #faithwalk ! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 I know I am not the only one. Many of you shared with me that losing weight is on your list this year. You've tried and failed to take and keep the weight off.
Because Faithful Finish Lines 2.0 has been so good for me, growing my faith while teaching me how to reach and maintain my #healthyweight I feel like I HAVE to tell you about it!
That is why I share Faithful Finish Lines 2.0 with you.
Maybe you're not ready just yet to commit to a program like this, no worries... it opens a few times a year and will be here when you are ready.
But maybe you just have some questions. Ask away 😘

God is alles waard.

"If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’M BANKRUPT WITHOUT LOVE." 1 Corinthians 13:3-7 MSG
❤ There's a lot the Bible says about love. In fact, it tells us to do everything in the name of it. Loving one another is central in Christian faith and teaching. There are many Bible verses telling us about loving not only your own people, but to love everyone around you.
According to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 MSG
❤ Love never gives up.
❤ Love cares more for others than for self.
❤ Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
❤ Love doesn’t strut,
❤ Love doesn’t have a swelled head,
❤ Love doesn’t force itself on others,
❤ Love isn’t always “me first,”
❤ Love doesn’t fly off the handle,
❤ Love doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
❤ Love doesn’t revel when others grovel,
❤ Love takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
❤ Love puts up with anything,
❤ Love trusts GOD always,
❤ Love always looks for the best,
❤ Love never looks back, But keeps going to the end
❤"Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]."1 Peter 4:8 AMP

COMFORTED IN TRIALS.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
Life is good, but sometimes it can be hard.
Trials and temptations come to all of us, often arriving without warning. Some can be extremely difficult and different than anything we could have imagined.
The worst part is the battle that takes place in our mind. Weeks turn into months. It’s exhausting and we might want to give up.
Take courage my Christian friend. You may not only to believe in him, but also to suffer his sake (Philippians 1:29). Perhaps now, for a little while, the genuineness of your faith is being proven by how you face these trials, but remember that God is in full control.
I know you might feel alone and may not even speak to anyone about it. But understand there is someone else who has experienced the exact same thing. Be encouraged by that. Trust in Christ to strengthen you enough to endure. God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear and will provide a way of escape. He has a purpose and will not allow us to fail (Psalm 125:3). Soon, it will all make sense. Perhaps there is someone else experiencing a very hard time. They know God is in control, but they can’t bear another moment. They’re thinking no one can understand what they’re going through. You are about to surprise them.
Father, though trials bring us grief, we are thankful that you allow them for a purpose. We know that our faith must be tested as gold refined through fire, so that we will be found to praise, honor and glory when Jesus Christ is revealed. Help us show others this as well. Amen.
COUNT IT ALL JOY.“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you will know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” James 1:2–4
My husband quotes these verses a lot. I used to feel uncomfortable when he did because I knew I did not “count it joy” when I had difficulties. I often thought of trials as a nuisance. But God has been teaching me, and finally it has become clear to me why I need to count it all joy.
Recently I read Majestic is Your Name. This book contains a collection of writings by Teresa of Avila, who lived during the fifteenth century. She wrote, “Be happy when you are blamed and accused wrongly, for then you have the chance to see all the bitter, hostile, or self-pitying responses that your sinful soul wants to spew out— as if these puny things could in any way defend you! Watch and see if any of these poisons come out of you when your spirit is pricked by an accusation. Only then can you see yourself as you are, and confess thy sin that is within you, and forsake yourself again into the Lord’s care.” You see, when we run into difficulties or accusations, we can choose to respond in joy, or we can react negatively. Our response is the barometer as to how we are doing spiritually.
I encourage you to choose to respond with joy to every difficulty or nuisance that comes your way today. It is an act of affirming that God is the blessed controller of all things.
Lord Jesus, I do thank You for the trials that come into my life. Whenever my soul is pricked by a sarcastic remark, or I am misunderstood or slighted by someone, my reaction to this lets me realize again that I am a sinner, desperately in need of Your strength to respond in love and kindness and patience. Thank You for continually pointing out my need of total reliance on You. Amen.
Sometimes we face a leadership challenge that looms so large we can't think of where or how to begin. Whether the work is an exciting opportunity or a threatening problem, the Spirit nudges us to turn to God. God longs to be part of our beginnings, part of our solutions, part of our planning. As we turn to Him, He will give us His perspective and empower us to begin in faith, trusting that He will lead the way. Leading like Jesus always begins with asking Him to lead us.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. —Proverbs 9:10 NLT
Day 17: Love for Others
"Heavenly Father, You created us for community. Loving others is how we increases Your Kingdom - by showing the unconditional care You gave us as an example on the cross.
Lord, You love every person patiently and kindly, and bless those who curse You. I want to live that example to the fullest. Your love does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Lord, Your love has never nor never will fail, help my love to look like Yours in the face of all circumstances.
Help me love a stranger as intentionally as I love my family. Help me love my enemy earnestly while remaining in Your Grace. I want to show Your love to everyone; those I disagree with, those who wrong me, those You need to lift up, those who don't know You have a plan for them, those who I have met already, and those I haven't.
May Christ's love dwell in my heart though faith always, in Jesus' name, Amen."
Every morning when you wake remember this beautiful promise that God's love is constantly surrounding and guiding you. His love wraps protection, salvation and provision around you. He will never leave you wanting. His love for you is so intimately vast that it saturates every aspect of your life. Like a cloak it shrouds you from the fears that freeze you heart, soul and mind. Though you may lay aside your love and wander away He remains close to you whispering His love into your ear trying to draw you back to His side. Nothing but your own doing can separate His eternal love from you.
We are going to head through 50 favorite Bible verses about LOVE. Tag friends who need a reminder of God's love for them as we journey through His most loving words over the next few weeks!
And by the way, I love you. I asked God what I should be doing right now and His answer was to love my neighbor, and love them well. That's you. "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (hcsb)
Have you ever found yourself sick and tired of the story your life has become? Or maybe the story of your past is so painful you want to tear those pages out and pretend they never happened? If so, you aren't alone in that ❤️ So many people I work with struggle with shame and hurt from their past as much as their current struggle. And I get that! I was right there with you, for a long time. A looooong time! I was ashamed and embarrassed of my story. So sick and tired of page after page saying the same things. Every new chapter being a continuation of the last 🤦 And yet.....my response to you is one that I believe the Lord spoke to me, "I know the final chapter! I have read the end of the book! You will see, it's a glorious ending!" Have you ever watched a movie or read a book that was almost too painful or uncomfortable to get through? But the ending was so beautiful and fabulous that you wished it wasn't over? You can't erase the 😬 from those beginning pages or the 😭 from the middle or even the 💔🤬😟 throughout. When we try and pretend those events and experiences didn't happen we lose the wooooohoooo at the end 🙌🙌🙌 I don't know how he does it, but God made a promise and he is the promise keeper!
He says that even our desperately painful, embarrassing and even traumatic pages are going to be worked out for our ultimate good.
Romans 8:28 "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose." And he says that there's no shame in our weakness because that's where he is glorified! In this verse the Lord is speaking to Paul the Apostle in one of his many moments of weakness:
2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness." Getting support is so important in the difficult chapters of our story. But getting perspective is also key! Your story is not finished and the final chapter is absolutely glorious! 🙌

How many times are we guilty of trying to persuade our spouse to think like us?🙋
Communication is key in marriage. Together, we talk about what we desire for our future. This can include children, finances, faith, etc.
I know from my own experience my husband can give another perspective that I've not thought of. I truly appreciate his insight on those matters.
Do I, at times, want him to think like me? Sure I do but through communication we can come to a place of understanding each other and move towards our goals.
May your marriage be filled with motivation and kind words, truly seeking wholeness.🙌❤
Walks with friends. And Scripture that pierces my heart. Grateful.
Hosea 5:15 KJV
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

You’re a brave one. Even though you can’t see it right now, God is working behind the scenes and greater things are in store. Be ready to receive more than you lost. Rejection is Gods Protection. Happy Friday #GodsLove#HeelMyHeart 💜💜💜
Happy 34th wedding anniversary to my parents 💍✨ I’m so happy to have been apart of 26 of those years & I celebrate the both of you , there’s a part in a vow that says: “through sickness and in health “ and you guys are the definition. My father is a heart transplant recipient and now is fighting the flu in the hospital my mom has a set of her own health issues but you both remained solid for each other and never folded #blacklove#godslove love you both 🤞🏾✨🎉💜
I love #brucelee not only was he extraordinary at martial arts, but a philosopher as well.
Think about dating in the early beginning and everything is new, wonderful and can’t get enough of each other. The #passion is hot. The #fire is intense. The true heat isn’t from the #flame its from the source. It’s the love for each other which becomes the #eternalflame
This love for each other doesn’t happen overnight nor is it from #rainbows and #butterflies
It also comes from experiences, conflict, challenges, and is developed. It’s like digging a well. You may hit the water source early, but if you don’t dig deep the water source will run dry.
May your fires burn hot and your wells run deep in your relationship. Kiss the person you wake up to this morning and give a hug as if it’s the last time you’ll see them. Cherish your partner and your partner will cherish you. #lovequotes#faith#godslove#relationshipgoals#lovequotes#lovedeeply#lovefirecely#twinflame#twinflameseparation

If we’re here for honesty, which I am, I have to share something that I’ve debated sharing before. .
I have taken Adipex in the past, why? Because I believed that was the only way I was going to be able to lose weight. .
While I took it (I didn’t last long, can’t remember exactly but I’m thinking less than 4 weeks) I was incredibly anxious, like to the point I would make my own self cry. My sitting heart rate stayed at 120+, my BP was always way too low, & (warning this is TMI) I stayed constipated. && don’t get me started on the thirst 😳 .
One day I was like why? Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do I have to have a pill to lose weight? Why can’t I just have the self control that I need to live a healthy lifestyle? .
Finally another piece of me let go & let God take even more of my journey. I think for me & my relationship with God the hardest part is admitting I’m not in control. It’s his story I’m telling, because without him I don’t have one. .
When I see people taking things like Adipex, gBurn, drinking the coffee, or whatever I don’t judge because I was there. I believed that was the only way I could lose weight. But friends it’s not long lasting. Can you always afford $60+ a month? Because if you don’t change your lifestyle as soon as you quit taking it or drinking the stuff the weight comes right back. .
Weightloss is a mental thing. It’s a lean on God with your whole life kind of thing. It’s a lifestyle change. •just have Faith•

Ten thousand hours. That’s how long author Malcolm Gladwell suggests it takes to become skillful at any craft. Even for the greatest artists and musicians of all time, their tremendous inborn talent wasn’t enough to achieve the level of expertise that they would eventually attain. They needed to immerse themselves in their craft every single day.
As strange as it might seem, we need a similar mentality when it comes to learning to live in the power of the Holy Spirit. In Galatians, Paul encourages the church to be set apart for God. But Paul explained that this couldn’t be achieved through merely obeying a set of rules. Instead we’re called to walk with the Holy Spirit. The Greek word that Paul uses for “walk” in Galatians 5:16 literally means to walk around and around something, or to journey (peripateo). So for Paul, walking with the Spirit meant journeying with the Spirit each day—it’s not just a one-time experience of His power.
May we pray to be filled with the Spirit daily—to yield to the Spirit’s work as He counsels, guides, comforts, and is simply there with us. And as we’re “led by the Spirit” in this way (v. 18), we become better and better at hearing His voice and following His leading. Holy Spirit, may I walk with You today, and every day! From odb.org
10 This is what the LORD says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
12 In those days when you pray, I will listen.
13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
14 I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” Jeremiah 29:10-14 NLT
Your Father in heaven chose you!💕
No matter how insignificant you may feel at times, remember that God values you so much.

Wallace Stegner’s mother died at the age of fifty. When Wallace was eighty, he finally wrote her a note—“Letter, Much Too Late”—in which he praised the virtues of a woman who grew up, married, and raised two sons in the harshness of the early Western United States. She was the kind of wife and mother who was an encourager, even to those that were less than desirable. Wallace remembered the strength his mother displayed by way of her voice. Stegner wrote: “You never lost an opportunity to sing.” As long as she lived, Stegner’s mother sang, grateful for blessings large and small.
The psalmist too took opportunities to sing. He sang when the days were good, and when they weren’t so good. The songs were not forced or coerced, but a natural response to the “Maker of heaven and earth” (146:6) and how He “gives food to the hungry” (v. 7) and “gives sight to the blind” (v. 8) and “sustains the fatherless and the widow” (v. 9). This is really a lifestyle of singing, one that builds strength over time as daily trust is placed in “the God of Jacob” who “remains faithful forever” (vv. 5–6). The quality of our voices isn’t the point, but our response to God’s sustaining goodness—a lifestyle of praise. As the old hymn puts it: “There’s within my heart a melody.” From odb.org
