Habit is a settled activity that we do without having to think about it. When becoming excellent in an area of our life we need to cultivate habits that are going to take us there. ➰
Here are some tips we can use to create new habits:
1. Decide what you want, and why you want it: You might want to lose weight and that is great, but why? It is because you want to feel healthy or because you want to wear a nice dress for your friend’s wedding. The idea is to link your desire outcome with the feeling you want to experience in a regular basis.
2. Describe the activity: If you want to create a morning routine then get clear on the things you are going to need and how you are going to use them; a glass of water, a book to read, a notebook to write, pen, your active wear if you are going to exercise.
3. Mark in a calendar what days and times you are going to do your activity. Maybe you are not going to do your activity on weekends or maybe on weekends you feel more free to do the things you want to. Each day, do one thing, even a very small thing, towards the achievement of your goal. You will have a sense of momentum and stay connected on what you want to achieve.
4. Stay in touch with your accountability partner. Make sure you keep talking with people about what you want to achieve, and who will hold you to that. ➰
There is are research that says it takes 21 days to create a new habit, in my opinion it can take 1 day. You just need to commit to it. ➰
I will give you an example of my own; I wanted to create a habit of drinking more water, my reason is because I wanted to be healthier. I took my phone and created an alarm every 2 hours from 9 am to 5 pm to remind myself to drink water. Then when my alarm started ringing my coworkers started asking about it and I share with them my desire of drinking more water and now they are the ones who always say to me “Carolina drink your water”. I know it sounds a bit silly but it’s working for me. So what is the new habit you want to start creating? Share with me in the comments. •

The beauty of your soul - seeking light despite darkness RM Drake .
True though isn’t it?
I’ve recently taken on a big new project, which forced me to reevaluate how I spend my time.
I’ve literally been shocked at the amount of dithering and faffing I did previously.
I spent a lot of time in my head, working things out, calculating, planning, deciding what to do.
Not that’s all great on the understanding that it’s proportionate to what you’re doing and that you take action at the end.
Procrastination is the place where we do the first and very limited amounts of the other two.
I get that certain decisions feel ‘hard.’
We spend time considering and deliberating, because the risk of choosing wrongly feels huge. .
Yet the thought process, the actual brain, sciencey, cognitive part is actually the same for any decision. It’s only when we add risk that the procrastination starts.
Risk is fear. Fear of outcome, of the unknown, of judgement and sometimes even of success.
If you’re struggling, do some research on yourself.
What are you scared of?
Where is the procrastination coming from?
Is it real or imagined?
Tell me in the comments below what it is you procrastinate over.

KEKUATAN KITA TERUJI

Anxiety? Is this a reality and something we must accept and manage in our lives?
I hope this post helps others to kind of feel normal. I hear the words anxiety and depression online and in the media all the time.
How do we know when we have anxiety and how do we know when it is just an anxious period?
I am not a psychologist nor professionally trained in this subject, so I can only share from my own perspective.
In my book I share a lot about my therapy around this diagnosis and what I learned. So this is now an update I guess.
I was advised this week that anxiety becomes a habit, a programmed way of being. When life is okay again and you are safe, it takes a while to re learn patterns of positive thinking. When I hear the words “I have your back”, or “you are in safe hands” it triggers an emotion in me, I always well-up with tears. These words mean a great deal for me from past pain, loneliness and challenges and so I deeply know what it feels like to worry and feel unsafe. I deeply know anxiety.
So, how do I reprogram and get out of the habit!
Mindfulness is my choice, my new habit. I haven’t cracked it yet, I am under the tuition of my son @tjpower who is doing his Masters in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience and is dedicated to the power of Mindfulness through studying performance.
I am student now of this subject and I am seeing the benefits. It is a commitment to learning, practice and being open to the universe, gratitude and regaining control and trust and learning to love yourself a little more than you have.
I think it is a great antidote to anxiety and as Brian McGill said “Your calm mind is the ultimate weapon against your challenges”
Humans can withstand almost inconceivable stress—and you can too. So that is your first step: Gain perspective. And to do that you must do something critical in many situations: Detach. Whatever problems or stress you are experiencing, detach from them. Stress is generally caused by what you can’t control. #jockowillinck

Your Momentum And Your Potential Momentum
Your momentum is already set
Whatever you are doing on a daily basis as your habits for any length of time
Is your momentum and will not change
You have everything set up to easily do these habits, so they keep happening
That’s the good news
The bad news if you want to change
The more momentum you have, the harder to change direction
You need to change the momentum to head in a different direction
This is your potential momentum
Picking key habits is the way to change and realise your potential momentum
Day 7 of 90: I thought I would sit here and think about why struggled this week in adapting to a new morning and night routine. And I all I thought about were excuses. And this has been a struggle of mine for a very long time. We all have made excuses to justify why we can or can't do something rather than just simply doing it. My goal starting tomorrow is to start making myself accountable. I'm not gonna be so nice if I don't follow through with myself. And what I mean by that is if I don't follow my routine, I need to do.... (and I do not like these...) pushups!!! I hope this works; so tomorrow I'm making myself do 5 pushups for each day I didn't follow through so right now I'm at 30. Yikes! But hey, it'll get better right? 😆😳🙈💪🏼💪🏼 #fitnessmotivation#fitnessjourney#weightloss#habits#90dayjourney#pushups#goals#accountability
1 year ago this morning I came home from my last employed shift. A whole year! It’s flown by! The reality of self-employed v the dream has been slightly different. I thought I’d have more time, I thought I’d have actual days off, I actually planned monthly self development days 😂. I’ve never worked as hard but I’ve never felt so much more rewarded.
Up until a few months ago I felt my head was constantly immersed in work, I’d take on too much for fear of the quiet months and life was passing by in a flash. The quiet months never came and so I started to say that big scary word of ‘no’. As fun as markets are, I do fewer, I now have a limit on stockists so I can give a better service to them and to me! I’ve started prioritising what’s important and what can wait because it’s a close line between getting things done and burnout.
I found this quote from time management coach David Allen the other day and it’s pretty apt ‘You can do anything, just not everything’
Nice one David, where were you a year ago? 😁

So recently I was in a reliance training seminar. Which was basically how to deal with stress. Because it is inevitable in our lives. But this seminar talked about daily habits and the habits of successful people and I thought I would share some with you
Successful people - get up early - read a lot - prioritize exercise - they get enough sleep

A follow on from my last post. As we move away from goals based around weight loss and restriction, we have room to move into more intuitive based goals. We have the mental and emotional capacity to now explore the things that really matter to us beyond trying to be smaller and we can ask ourselves “what do we need right now” or even the room to figure out the small changes that can support the bigger health behaviours.
However, no matter how small and subtle the changes are, change takes time. It takes patience and practice, trial and error and it requires us to develop a level of self-discipline that helps us to form the habits that create the change.
There is one issue I’ve found though with trying to form habits outside of the rigid rules of diet culture; the word self-discipline creates a barrier for me straight away. I believe it’s because I now associate it with restriction and rigidity and inevitable failure. I used the word here because I do think a level of discipline is required in order to stick to habits that actually help us, however, we can change the words that no longer serve us in a positive way.
And so I give myself GENTLE PERMISSION . It means the whole process of habit forming feels optional, flexible, intuitive, compassionate and understanding. It means I can check in with myself and explore how the changes feel and it also means that ‘failure’ isn’t attached to any of the outcomes because gentle permission means that I’m understanding of why I may be finding a particular habit hard to stick to.
Changing self-discipline to giving myself gentle permission may be a subtle change in language but it’s had a rather profound effect on how I approach getting shit done.
And it’s yet another nugget of wisdom from the VoiceNotes. It’s amazing how much we find out about ourselves when we have people we trust to process out loud with 💗
‼️Happy, Body Confident, Sustainability ‼️ .
These are the 3 aspects most guys I have the pleasure talking to simply want to achieve, .
❌ It isnt about having a six pack .
❌ It isnt about having to challenge a restrict diet ❌ It isnt about killing yourself for 8 weeks for a "result" then put it all back on again
The guys I train and talk to daily want .
✅ The feeling of overwhelming happiness ✅ to look in the mirror and radiate body confidence ✅ the "diet" to not be a chore and a quick fix but a long term "diet" that becomes there lifestyle ✅ and most of all, KEEP IT.
This is why I am lifestyle driven and not results driven.
Yes, goals are important but sustainable and attainable goals.
IF you are "on a diet" or training program currently ask yourself this.... ...Can I see myself eating these foods or doing these workouts in 6 months time?
If yes, then you are winning
If No, then you need to change it up.
Because I GUARANTEE if you stick to what you are doing, IF you stick to it that is, and get the result you want, Round of applause to you BUT it will not last.
Old habits you masked with motivation and will-power will come back and within months the strides forward you made will all be reversed and back to square one you will be
This time even more pissed off and frustrated because you got the result, you should be living the high life but instead that towel is very close to being thrown in.
My advice to you:
Walk before you jog before you run before you sprint
Dont go straight into the sprint because as we all know, it doesnt last long and neither will your plan or result.
Start slow, build momentum, build solid habits, build a support system and build your foundations for results to last a hell of a longer time
Just want to give recognition to this little superstar. Been training with me for around 10 months now, after ruptured lumbar discs.
Now shes deadlifting 100kg, is pain free and a little pocket rocket in terms of her new found strength!
Building up her strength has been the absolute priority this year, and she's been a pleasure to work with, always gives me 100% effort with her training!
An upcoming holiday means we will enter a fat loss phase towards the end of the year. But building lean muscle and strength takes time, and I want to thank her for her efforts in sticking with the plan and putting in the work. Well done @rachelh5010 ! . #strong#strength#buildstrength#leangains#liftweights#weighttraining#meanandleanfitness
Went to the @veganexpokapiti today and though there was many delicious things to taste and see, these reign supreme!! These dips are bomb dot com, no added nastys and for once they are made with olive oil!! Woohoo! No crappy inflammatory inducing oils that most dips seem to have. (Check out the packaging people. Tinned fish etc too!) most of all, they are delicious 😍😍 The crackers are @thebakeddane and they call them “vegan crackle” (like a sub for pork cackling) and I kid you not, I didn’t even realise this and said to dad, this reminds me of pork crackle! So there ya go. Again, all natural deliciously good ingredients.
