Another smallie from the first time kayak fishing last week.
First day out on the new yaks. We had a good time working on dialing in the American Falls fish. We hooked 3 and lost all 3 at the boat. We decided to switch spots and fished from the bank for an hour and finally brought 2 in. All in all a very good day getting to know the lake and a new fishing buddy.
Tight lines peoples.

Sometimes we forget about the different states (and countries) that border Idaho!
Ontario, Oregon is only 29 miles from Caldwell Idaho.
The perfect gift for the watercolor artist in your life. These one-of-a-kind handcrafted #brushes were created by McKenzie @mfbrushworks and we LOVE them. Made from all natural materials- antler, elk hair, and wood harvested from Idaho and Oregon- these brushes are made with the utmost attention to detail and honor the environment they come from. #honoryourenvironment#elk#fromthewilds#wild#artisttools
Our featured artist this week is Susan Cooper, a talented watercolorist and a wonderful lady. Susan has studied art for over 30 years, beginning her professional study as an art major in college. When I asked her why she chose watercolor as her medium, she didn't hesitate in her answer: "Because it was difficult." Not one to shy away from a challenge, she has spent these decades mastering techniques to lift colors and work with the limitations of fixing. As I sat below the towering falls getting drenched, I was still able to enjoy a moment of serenity. #idaho#waterfallwednesday

"Coop's Buffalo" A stunning original watercolor painting by Susan Cooper. This buffalo is a perfect example of Susan's attention to detail and her mastery of watercolor. Even as an already accomplished artist, the buffalo hide was a result of days of practicing and perfecting strokes before attempting the entire painting. Available in different size prints on-line or at our shop. Stop by her new website at www.artbysusancooper.com to find out more about her story!
St. Joe Lake is located in a cirque, a deep granite bowl, at the base of Graves and Illinois Peaks in the Bitterroot Mountain Range. Illinois Peak (pictured here) lies on the border of Montana and Idaho, in the Northern Bitterroot mountains, and at 7690 in elevation it is the highest point in Idaho's Shoshone county. Interestingly, while the peak is located in Idaho, 75% of the mountain is located in Montana.

The mountains were calling my name and so there I went...Taking time to prioritize my health and mental wellbeing over the long holiday weekend felt so good and it was very much needed!
It's been a minute since I've been on social media --- How are you guys holding up?
To be completely honest, for me, the last few weeks (heck, months) have been FREAKING HARD. There, I said it. Being in the travel industry during this pandemic means working basically for free and around the clock to navigate so many sudden changes, rescheduling trips, advocating for clients, staying up to date on the latest travel restrictions, new safety protocols, assisting clients through the many processes of insurance claims, credits, and refunds.
Everyone is handling this time differently, please remember to be kind to one another, you never know what that person is personally battling! And as travel slowly resumes, I cannot stress enough the value of working with a professional travel advisor—Not only will I make your life easier and help guide you through every step of the way!
