“wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine” ☀️ honestly the transition back to ‘real life’ today has been a little tougher than I expected, I’m missing Mexico & the cool rainy weather probably isn’t helping. After work today I plan on ‘brining my own sunshine’ with a yin yoga class @aliveyogato, a bubble bath + some healthy cooking (I’m thinking Thai green curry? This doctor did miss her kitchen!).

Make the most of it and actually enjoy your flight with these tips. ✈ Invest in CLEAR or TSA Precheck - Save yourself some time, get through the security line quickly.
✈ Bring wipes to disinfect your seat, ESPECIALLY the food tray. ✈ Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a blanket and socks if you tend to get cold like me ( no one likes cold feet, literally 😂), earplugs or chewing gum if you hate the feeling of your ears popping after takeoff. ✈ Make sure that you pack your essential medications in your carry-on just in case you need them. There's nothing worse than needing your meds and they aren't available. ✈ Make sure to invest in compression stockings to reduce the effects of blood clots during long flights. A rule of thumb is to buy one (1) size smaller than your regular size for tights or socks. they SHOULD NOT RESTRICT CIRCULATION! Let's talk about Jet Lag: ✈ Get plenty of rest BEFORE you travel, starting a trip when you lack sleep only makes jet lag worse. ✈ Set your watch to the time of the place you're traveling to a few days before you travel. Try not to sleep until it is nighttime where you plan to travel. ✈ 😴 on the plane if it's night-time where you plan on visiting. If it is daytime where you plan to go when you arrive, try to avoid going to sleep until bedtime. ✈ Try to adjust your internal clock before you leave. If you're traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast keep in mind that there's a 3-hour difference. You'll have to go to bed earlier in order to account for the time difference.

When you’re in joyful mood, jetlag can’t touch you 😂😂😂 Now that I’m starting settling into new routine with my job, the questionable choices of nutrition, stress management, rest period etc start screaming for attention. Still jetlag, especially in the afternoon at work. And that’s when I make wrong choices in nutrition to compensate my low energy 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ On the other hand, I joined new gym at work this morning. A seada is deep fried pastry stuffed with melted cheese and topped with Sardinian honey. This one happened to be an orange honey.
My mom and I are kicking off our travels RIGHT! We stopped in to see my old buddy, Gianpietro, in #SantaMarinella at a hole-in-the-wall seafood restaurant I used to frequent every weekend the year I lived in #Rome . Gianpietro and his sister are from #Sardegna and give all the food here their special Sardo touch. The place is always packed with locals, from workermen to dressy family gatherings, it's a homey and delicious spot.
I can't begin to explain how much FLAVOR the mussels and clams had. This is the restaurant where in 2012 I learned the rule that you're only supposed to eat this group of seafood in months that have an "R" in it (so not summer months). It was a funny stop today...I somehow walked away with a framed nautical picture straight off the restaurant wall that I'm supposed to deliver to my friend Luigi's mom in Florence in a few weeks. ➡️ Ajustar horarios unos días antes de salir de viaje: 🤔Intentá ir adelantando o atrasando la hora de tus comidas o actividades según el destino. Si no se pueden hacer muchas modificaciones, se debe reducir la cantidad de alimentos así como aumentar la frecuencia de comidas.
➡️ Cambiar la hora del reloj apenas estés en el asiento de avión para acostumbrarse psicológicamente al nuevo horario.
➡️ Mantenerte bien hidratado y alejado del alcohol, para evitar el cansancio por deshidratación.

Even in mid-October the sunrise at this place is at about 5:15 IST that is based on the meridian of 82.5° East- a difference of nearly an hour. Even for those who sleep well, nothing can disrupt sleep like travel. ✈️We didn’t evolve with air travel and jet planes in mind, so if you’ve flown long distances, you’ve almost certainly experienced jet lag at some point. Here’s some tips to try and subside these symptoms. A lot of people tend to be running around a day or two before a big trip, so they set foot on the plane pre-loaded with sleep deprivation. ⏰
Most of our clients have no time in their busy schedule for their hair. Hospital, law-firm, financial institution, school, business, airport and most importantly children and everything else do not allow them to come to the salon on their own terms.

Aaaand home, jetlag and just general lack of sleep. I hate you. Get ready for the ny spam.
I am about to be on a 12 hour flight and then in a time zone 16 hours ahead of the one I live in. My body is going to be totally out of sorts upon arrival.
I am going to be exhausted, stiff and cranky. I am planning on being extra gentle and kind with myself as I adjust.
I am also planning on coping ahead by doing the following:
1)Drinking more water than I want to on the flight. Having to get up to pee a lot is better than being super dehydrated and risking getting migraine.
2) Eating regularly even though i know my hunger cue are gonna be whacky.
3) Moving my body on the flight. Doing light stretching and walking a couple laps every few hours.
4) Washing my hands often and wiping down my seat on the plane. Since my body is under stress, my immune system can get compromised so making sure I am keeping up with hand hygiene is important.
5) Upon arrival going for a walk, taking a long shower or bath, NOT GOING TO SLEEP AT 5pm ( even though I know that’s all I want to do haha)
6) If possible finding a park or nature to be in. My friend recently told me that being barefoot in nature can help offset jetlag, So sign me up!
7) Have radical acceptance that I am not going to feel 100% and that’s ok

Jetlag! During my 15 years as cabin crew I have tried many things to combat it. Long walks in the forest, yoga and a short nap every day makes a huge difference for me. Today I went for a walk in Frederiksberg Garden, a beautiful park close to where we live. I love autumn 🍂 #autumn#lake#jetlag#cureforjetlag#lifeascabincrew ✈️

Had a great weekend in Vegas celebrating the win this season with @kelvin_fletcher and @beechdeanamr. Finally made it back home with a nice piece of silverware to add to the trophy room (my parents attic). #jetlag is going to be a struggle but I have a few boxes of @immunage_uk to help me get through it!
or actually day 1 for me😂? Every festival day (Groove Island/ Groove Cruise) there are two themes; one daytime & a different at night. This is my favorite part🤡!!! I love dressing up in costumes and see others. This theme is “island chic”🐚 The video is a speed up of walking in the festival (super early since I had so much sleep the night before lol) Here’s to being fresh & excited😆

Nous n’avons jamais été si heureux d’atterrir ! Après 3h d’attente dans l’avion, le vol annulé, rester enfermer dans la chambre d’hôtel, les distributeurs de boissons en panne, un panier petit déjeuner à 00h, un livre qui nous porte la poisse, refaire 1h30 de queue pour repasser la douane, rester encore bloqués 2h dans l’avion, un vol de 8h avec de belles turbulences ......... Nous voilà arrivés au Canada !!! 😅🍁 Nous sommes la définition même de la poisse et des vacances bien méritées je crois ! 😂
So nice and quiet here right now. Just me and the puppy, laying down here together listening to the hum and ringing of my ears caused by the constant 24/7 noise pollution of the last seven weeks.
