"Midday Stroll" 8" x 12" soft pastel on card paper. ~
Though an opportunistic omnivore, the bulk of the coyote diet comes from small rodents like voles. During the winter, voles use that thick insulating blanket of snow to create a transit system of tunnels spanning up to a few hundred square feet. A hungry coyote using his highly tuned sense of hearing and finding such a burrow system can track voles from above, waiting for an opportune moment to pounce, break through the crust and catch one of the scurrying rodents. Coyotes have a balancing relationship on local rodent populations and besides keeping certain populations from becoming overly abundant, also increase the diversity of rodent species. Since we are talking about coyotes… ~
If you are looking for a Not-For-Profit to donate to this holiday season (I just did), please consider checking out @coyotewatchcanada (link to their website from their IG bio). Coyote Watch Canada works to develop and implement human-wildlife conflict solutions that emphasize coexistence and sustainability. Most are unaware of the extent of what they do. They advocate for wildlife welfare, educate through lectures and seminars, provide on-site investigations, assist with rescues and releases, consult with both municipal and provincial governments to counsel on wildlife framework models and provide law enforcement training. This means they are genuinely overwhelmingly and consistently busy actively working to improve wildlife conditions (often out in the field) and the one thing that inevitably slides is their social media and self-marketing. We live in a world where flash and show tend to be rewarded, but today if you have the means, I’d like you to look a little deeper and check out some of the quiet and humble “doers” out there. They need your support too.
I wish I had some amazingly inspirational bunch of words I could put together to match this photo! But all I can say is that you need to do the shit that scares you, the shit that makes you ask yourself whether you actually have the skill, or the will to do it. Step out of your little box, feel some fear, make yourself fucking uncomfortable. Now that doesn't mean you have to climb a mountain, or put your safety at risk. Maybe that means saying hi to a stranger or actually following through with your creative side, whatever that looks like to you. make growth apart of your normal!
Also not related to the above mentioned shit! The fucking #screamingbarfies can, well I'd use much more colorful language to describe them but they can.... well I have no words.. if you have had them then you know.. 😖😆😉🤬🤬🤬
Foggy morning in K Country
In the atmosphere, the fluid is wind. When the moist, warm air makes contact with the cooler surface air, water vapor condenses to create fog. ... Valley fog forms in mountain valleys, usually during winter. Valley fog develops when mountains prevent the dense air from escaping

. . . are off to a night away for some much needed R+R @knordicspa! It’s been a while since we have had time together without a million distractions. As cliche as the saying “adventure is out there, it’s up to you to find it.” is, it’s become a mantra that I’ve lived by for the last couple months.
I used to wait for adventure to come to me and was stoked when they would. But I never really prioritized lining up adventures every weekend or even just doing something and expecting it to all work out.
I’ve found that every adventure is amazing and usually for sporadic reasons that could never be planned. So in general I’ve learned to pursue adventure whenever possible, even in uncertainty. You’ll never regret it - and you’ll be glad you did 🧭🙌🏼
Another successful xmas tree hunt. Got a small one for our small place. Saw some sheep, sawed some trees and sipped some hot chocolate. The snow was super deep. We should have brought snow shoes.
Finally, headlamp for you that is as beautiful as it’s features! 😍

This should be your go-to-headlamp for when the sun goes down and the adventures still going. Hit the link in our BIO to visit their website and grab one while they are still on sale! —-> @backpackinggirls_ _ 🤙🏽
It’s not a ‘perfect’ photo, but it says a lot. Little wind-burnt but in my happy place, with all the smiles. While hiking with @vanessafraser the other day we chatted a lot about Instagram and how things have changed for us over the years. I think we took three photos on this hike and instead spent it catching up and trying not to blow off the ridge with the intense winds. I also made a story post the other day asking yal for feedback on ‘curated’ versus raw, unedited stories and how I feel meant influencers/photographers/bloggers on here are moving to more curated stories & I asked what yal would like to see and I was blown away at the comments and messages back suggesting ‘Keep doing what I’m doing’ and how one of the reasons yal follow is because it isn’t always perfect and it’s a mix of everyday life as well. Hope yal had a great weekend & thanks for the continued support on here! I have a short three day subbing week then I am off to Toronto for a few days to visit a friend 🤗❤️ #freshairandfreedom
