[AD] #WhatWillYouTake with you when you fly to stay healthy? I started using @PlaneAire earlier this fall and now it’s my new favorite travel companion for airplane hygiene.
I’ve used it on 10 flights to fight the icky bacteria on airplanes. I’m not much of a germaphobe but am super grossed out knowing that tray tables contain more bacteria than the plane’s bathroom flush button. The all-natural PlaneAir mist fights those germs with a powerful disinfecting blend of fruit-derived ingredients and essential oils with antiviral, antimicrobial, and anti-fungal properties that penetrates bacteria’s membrane, killing harmful bacteria while preventing bacteria from growing for 3 hours. You can totally reapply during a long flight.

I wrote about why I love the urban eco-conscious @GreenHostHotel in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for the December issue of @SilkAir’s SilkWind magazine and wanted to share a bit more about what makes this place so special.
They have an epic rooftop organic garden where they grow celery, basil, mint, chili, tomatoes, and more. You can pick your own veggies for a meal and all extra produce is given to the community.
The breakfast buffet is loaded with vegan-friendly options that are clearly marked (a rarity)
The property was built out of up-cycled materials and features greenery throughout.
They support local community projects by hiring them to hand make post-consumer rice sack slippers (which you can take home and I wore as shoes), rice soaps, and souvenirs for their shop (I bought a gorgeous scarf and natural eco-friendly deodorant in a glass jar).
The gallery space features local artists and can be used for free by emerging artists to showcase their work.
Stay tuned as I'll be writing more about this epic eco hotel soon on missfilatelista.com

When the sales are over and you saved 100% off by staying home cause you got bills to pay & goals ✊🏾to get too.....adulting real hard. .
Plus I’m not going into debt for these “Sales “ to impress people that don’t admire you. where’s the sales on my student loans ? 🤔Asking for a friend?
I've been sick in bed for almost two weeks and while I'm so grateful to be in Uruguay and have my momma taking care of me I'm also missing this plush bed at @GreenHostHotel. I wrote about the "cozy eco-conscious property constructed from recycled and sustainable materials" for the December issue of @SilkAir's SilkWinds magazine. The light fixtures in the urban rooms are old buckets! How cool is that?

🇺🇸Fall is beautiful🍁🍂 (🇪🇸&🇫🇷 ⬇️)
I thought I was going to completely miss the change in seasons this year. Since moving to Barcelona I’ve barely had time to leave the city with all the studying for my Masters and just establishing a life here. This weekend getaway was exactly what I need to recharge and experience fall in Europe.
I’m entering a new chapter in life that I am suddenly scrambling to figure out what exactly I’ve accomplished in the last 10 years!
I found myself between sobs at 3 am several months ago creating a note on my phone of ALL my major milestones (see next photo of SOME of those things). My brain and heart were trying to justify this need for validation and not feel a total sense of hopelessness. I wanted PROOF for sanity that my time and efforts with people, projects and education were not in vain.
At that vulnerable moment I thought, “ What if all of the heartache, failures, detours of life were actually opening doors to something so incredible? Life was happening FOR ME and not to me. .
I love that as humans we have the power to continually evolve and improve. It’s probably why I invest so much in educational, traditional and non traditional ( HELLO, TRAVEL 😉) learning. I am fascinated by acquiring new knowledge and humbled by my flaws and shortcomings.
Y’all in the grand schemes of things, we are specks in this grand universe. But man, what GREAT and amazing thinkers and DOERS there are when they BELIEVE in themselves and go after what they want. .
I’m continually inspired and THANKFUL by all of you! I see you, The Mamas, CEOs, and Girl Bosses. Thanks for continuing to go after what YOU want and inspiring others. .
SHINE ON! 🌟

🌈 WHEN YOU GO TO RAINBOW MOUNTAIN BUT DON’T SEE THE RAINBOW 🌈
Calm before the storm..........Holidays are upon us getting my mental ready for it all. As much as many love it & go shopping for gifts 🎁. I’m not on the same road. I’m getting focused on my goals and ambitions. So if your on a journey and need to pay off any loans/debt and or save for a long term asset. LISTEN 👂, they can be mad but it won’t be supporting your GOAL. I don’t believe presents or materialistic good should show your admiration for presence in those lives. But great memories and small things in life you take for granted should. #visions

Una de las anécdotas más chistosas 🏃🏃🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕.

Quick facts about me for those who have been asking/wondering [swipe right for signing version of this caption]:
*I am a first-generation Mexican. This means that my family moved to the USA from Mexico, and I was born there.
*My first language is Spanish and later learned English and SEE (Signed Exact English) & ASL (American Sign Language). However, I'm not very fluent in Spanish yet. Mostly in spoken Spanish than written/reading Spanish.
*I was raised orally AND had access to sign language. I never attend the Deaf institute. I was enrolled in the Deaf program and later mainstreamed.
*I use Sony Alpha A6500 camera for photography and videography, and I don't consider myself a professional.
*I travel on a budget, believe it or not, and I prefer to travel slowly when I have the chance to.
*I LOVE learning languages. Spanish, English, ASL, International Sign, Mandarin Chinese (basic/immediate). Currently learning Lengua de Señas Mexicana (LSM, also known as Mexican Sign Language) and hope to learn Hindi and Korean Sign Language.

I once got some questions from people on direct messages, "do you always wear makeup?" or "you're beautiful with makeup," "you look too tired" (when I don't wear makeup), etc. I even was raised to believe that women should "always dress nice." So I want to share a surprising reality for anyone who thinks every female traveler always dress up and wear makeup while traveling too: I don't always wear makeup while traveling (nothing wrong for those who do either!). I don't dress up daily as many people believe from what they're seeing on Instagram. There were some days when I was barefaced. Some days where I dressed pretty shitty - mi "ME VALE how you think I should dress like" attitude while traveling or taking photos (some days I do too). Some days when I was sick (like in this picture) or in a bad mood. Some days my hair can be so insanely frizzy (thanks humidity) that looked like I was electrocuted. Some days I was told that I had an embarrassing fashion. And some days, I face my insecurities about how I look too.
I don't have the "filtered" looks every day. This is part of travel, part of life. I'm a human being, not a doll for anyone to be customized as they please. I don't need to give in to others' expectation.
We need to learn that the filtered looks aren't the only thing that is called beautiful.

We need more women that uplift one another. We need more women that don't clip others' wings or take the pleasure of seeing a broken wing of others.
There are times where I've been feeling defeated. My wings weren't strong enough, but partly it is because I have been living in fears. Traveling long-term helped strengthen my wings but let's not forget that the wings don't fly itself. I've been working on myself in the last couple of months, including my own anxiety. I was so anxious to attend Deaf Women United Conference - @deafwomenunited (which happened last week) that I was thinking to skip it. Having fatigue wasn't so helpful either.
And now? I am so glad that I did not. The Deaf women I have met (even so it's not so many as I expected of myself prior to the conference) were nurturing - as if they were watering to feed the flower inside me that I've neglected, especially the Deaf women that I've gone to the bars with and shared the table on the night of the gala.
They didn't judge me for sharing my vulnerability. My feelings weren't dismissed. These women, who I've only known for two days or 4 days, they listened. I felt that my soul was seen somehow where I feel comfortable with being who I truly am. These women, they gave me support, hope, and empowerment. Empowered women empowered me.
Because of this, we need more women like them. Women who empower other women who they don't even know. Women who aren't selective about whom to empower (based on their race, culture, religion, etc.). Women who understand when it is time to pass the mic and let marginalized women empower others too.
Growing up, I've been a picky eater. It was incredibly frustrating for my family, friends....and strangers - shit, bless their little souls. Traveling has been helping me to stop being extremely picky with food. I learned to love different cuisines, like Indian food & Vietnamese food. I mean, I'm not there 100% yet but I'm learning to explore different food that the old me would probably gag at. Actually, I still can't get myself to eat any food that involves organs yet (except I've unknowingly eaten tacos con lengua de la vaca/tacos with cow's tongues). But anyway, I know this sweet ass ice cream that you see is probably doesn't count. I mean, it's ice cream, right? The flavor of this sweet baby right here is Assam. It was really good that I almost stopped by later again on the same day. Assam is a tea that you can get from India or China.
Are you a picky eater? Or can you really chow down anything that you see on the table?
