My usual weekend activity, I’m pretty spoiled (even when I have to wake up at 5am) 🥰

The light hits different in every angle driving up and down Hwy 395 along the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. Full of dirt roads to alpine lakes, hot springs, pristine skiing/boarding, mountain bike and hiking trails. You can’t get a bad sunrise or sunset adventuring around these parts. 🌾🌄
Another insane Alabama Hills sunrise, and these colors are pretty muted with being shot on Kodak Max 400 film | #filmisnotdead

Framed against the beautiful dark blue hue of the evening sky, several children make their way back home to a nearby village just after sunset. Spent the whole afternoon with these kids running up and down the rolling hills, playing games and laughing. Their joy and energy was contagious, such a beautiful time capturing a glimpse of their life through the camera.
Throwback to chillin’ on the Tyrrhenian Sea taking in the sunset with a bottle vino from a different perspective. 🇮🇹🌅

I think it’s important to know that our life and marriage didn’t always look like this. That our first year or so was pretty tough. Life was tough, life threw a lot our way, days after we said “I do”. My cousin unexpectedly and abruptly passed away in a horrific car accident on our honeymoon, my best friend moved to Texas, Eli’s job was really hard and he was learning how to work through it, I was working from home which sounds amazing but I was depressed from being home alone all day. On top of life, we were learning how to live together, how to be married, how to do all the life adult things. It felt like a lot.
But God 😊
We both leaned on Jesus to help us understand how to process what was happening in our life as well as how to do this thing called marriage.
We’ve learned and are still learning how to communicate expectations and to separate what/how the world/movies/shows/romcoms show a marriage vs what marriage really looks like. We are still learning a lot and it has taken a lot of work but it’s been so so worth it. These last several months we are truly reaping the benefits of the work we put in our first year despite all the challenges.
I share this to say that marriage is hard work and isn’t always what the world or even social media make it look like. I share so if you’re in a place like we were, that you know you’re not alone. I share to share the work God does in us. We truly wouldn’t be where we are today without Christ and the example He gives us.
Thankful to have you, E, to do this crazy life with🤍
the best way to predict your future is to create it 🌐 When @meteor_hs and I got to this vantage point, I thought I heard something on the lower level. I didn’t see anything but I listened to my gut feeling and changed some camera settings just in case🤨As we were leaving through the massive lower roof, a door slammed and there was a security guard right under the see through fence-like floor below me. Good thing I didn’t make a sound as I moved to cover and he didn’t look up 😂 we managed to ninja our way around him and escape through the stairs, narrowly dodging a second guard. We hid in an abandoned floor for an hour before walking the rest of the way down, only to meet a third guard waiting on the 7th floor who asked what we were doing and how we got on the roof😂Once the security team realized we were just taking photos, I convinced them to let us go if I deleted all my photos in front of them. They agreed and we left to dinner with my second SD card full of bangers 😈 Gotta hand it to them though, the security are on top of it at all of this developer’s office buildings
One of the great things about staying with a friend when traveling is getting the inside scoop on what to do from a local! @lu.s.i took us to Sauvie Island where we not only had the beach all to ourselves, but also got to witness a beautiful sunset 🥺

Now that Watson is walking again, time to BRING ON THE ADVENTURES!!😁
Watson is such a strong and resilient little dude. I’m SO proud of how far he’s come. He loves going out into the mountains and exploring and makes the best little adventure buddy, even if he does eat all the snacks ☺️.
