Regenerative agriculture isn’t just about regenerating landscapes...it’s also about regenerating ourselves, and @originofenergy is an expert on that one.💪
Movement is how we interact with our environment to experience Life.
Devoting time each day to either maintain or improve physical capacity will always give a great ROI (return on investment) Life goes quick, and it is easy to get distracted and put off physical conditioning.
I use a weekly movement checklist for myself, clients & students. The checklist is individually prioritised to ensure that the key things are done each week. As we age and pass ~35yrs, we must be aware of these 3 compounding factors largely influenced by hormonal down-regulation:
Increased deconditioning: we can not afford to go too long without providing sufficient loading to our structures
Slower progress: it is much harder to make gains with strength training as the hormonal system is not as responsive to the stress stimulus
Increased chance of injury: any loss of physical strength will be coupled with a loss of coordination.
You hear about the blue zones (which the pro plant people like to cherry-pick and conveniently leave out how long healthy #nosetotail eaters live) One component that is not explained IMO is the manual labour that is continued through Life. From my own observations, those that have reached old age and maintained strength developed it at a young age and never stopped.
You can never give up movement. The detail that I feel is most important is not to get injured. This does not mean avoidance that weakens you, but equally, it means: be honest about your current ability and before doing something strenuous ask yourself: "Do I have to capacity to regenerate and is it worth the risk." This advice is not only for + 35yrs this applies to everyone. I have coached some of the best athletes in the world to return to optimal levels of performance. As much as this process taught them about regenerating their bodies, it is better to not have to have the downtime. It is much better to keep progressing.
