My favorite Christmas decorations are the ones that are homemade 🎄
I made this Charlie Brown-esque tree from my cut off Christmas tree branches. I then added my smallest ornaments from years prior! I love gold stars 🌟 so I paired them with teeny purple ornaments from @homedepot . I added this little purple tree I got at @crackerbarrel last holiday season for a simple Christmas nightstand centerpiece 💕
Hard to capture how massive Dean’s Blue Hole is. 663 feet deep and over 100ft wide at the top (up to 330ft wide below this ridge). 2nd deepest hole in the world and many freediving competitions are held here. I can barely reach the opening. 🤣
I’d like to thank each and every one of you who came out to my shows, listened to my music online, collaborated with me, and offered your support in any way, shape, or form this year - you are amazing! I am proud to say I played 23 gigs in 2019. 23 gigs?? What a great year! Just to name a few, I kicked off the year with my debut EP release party in January. I was featured at Folk Music Society of Huntington’s Hard Luck Cafe in February with Bryan Gallo. I brought a band of musicians with me to Tap & Barrel twice, co-billed with Trapline Chatter at Soul Brew, and met wonderful artists like Paris Ray and The Como Brothers at the Songwriters Showcase in Mount Sinai. I had the pleasure of chatting with Samuel Yanuck on WUSB 90.1 Stony Brook Radio and returned to Hofstra University to find my picture from Thursday Nite Live mounted on the wall! I had the opportunity to play in Brooklyn for the first time at the Hart Bar thanks Jacob Derwin. This summer I had a blast sharing the stage at Still Partners in Sea Cliff and returning to the Huntington Folk Festival in Heckscher Park. The fall brought apples, pumpkins, and new experiences playing at Harbes Family Farm out east & the Sayville Fall Festival. I’m wrapping up the year recording my music with Frankie Matos and we are so excited to share these new pieces with a full band sound. 2019 has been a year of growth, new music, new people and some life changing opportunities. I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store. ♥️ #singersongwriter#2019wrapped#longisland#localmusic#gigs#shows#originalmusic#folk#acoustic
Rest In Peace to Detective Joe Seals who spent over a decade serving in the Jersey City Police Department. Seals was known for making headlines for his heroic efforts and earning respect for taking guns off the streets. He was killed Tuesday afternoon in Jersey City, becoming the 35th Jersey City police officer to die in the line of duty. I’ve had many moments where I think to myself that all the healing work is done. That all the time and energy I’ve spent changing my path paid off. That I’ve made it out of the darkness safely.
Then I get triggered.
And then suddenly I realize, yet again, that healing isn’t “one and done” and it’s certainly not linear.
It’s interesting to me what can trigger me, because it changes so often.
I’ve realized it changes based on where I am in my healing journey.
I’ve noticed that what used to set me off spinning may not anymore. And when I move through the situation ease fully I sometimes get startled, and not because I’m triggered. I’m startled because I’m NOT triggered. That’s when I think to myself that all that hard work paid off.
But then there’s moments where I am triggered. And the trigger may be something that didn’t even make me blink an eye two weeks ago, and now all of sudden, I’m spiraling. In these moments, I get swept up in the fact that I couldn’t handle it. I am hard on myself for not being more mindful and for not practicing the pause. I get frustrated for reacting. And sometimes I get so caught up in the trigger that I think I’ve “failed” therapy and forgot everything I’ve learned over the last 8 years.
Which is totally not the case.
Not even a little.
Each moment is vastly different. We are constantly changing. We are evolving. We are growing. We are healing. We are peeling back the layers of muck.
On the days where I’ve remembered to pause, I choose to reflect on the decisions I’ve made that have brought me to this moment. And some of those decisions were positive, but many were negative. I think about both.
I’ve learned most about myself through my poor choices, through the hard times, and through the darkness. That’s where the deep healing and growth happens. #mentalhealthawareness#yourjourneyhomeyoga#mentalhealth#spirituality#beach#longisland#islandstrong#strong#yoga#letstalkmentalhealth#healing#journey#talktherapy#mindfulness#meditation#change#grow#heal#lessons#inspiration#motivation#love#selfcare#photography#chatarunga#waves#huntingtonny#southhuntington#campdewolfe#retreat

Today on what would have been my dad’s 64th birthday, I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy Sputo. As Kathy & I got to know each other while I was interviewing her, I soon found out that her dad passed away when she was 15, like myself.
I had then mentioned that today was my dad’s birthday & then suddenly her jaw dropped as she then told me today was her dad’s birthday as well! 😱 .
If that’s not fate then I don’t know what is ❤️ .
I can’t wait to share how Kathy brings joy during the holiday season by inviting people into her home filled top to bottom with Christmas decor like you’ve never seen before & donates 100% of the money collected to @stjude ✨
Holiday ready 🌲... Another layered mirror moment that is chic and beautiful in front of a comfortable, yet refined grey banquette. A magnolia leaf centerpiece adds a sophisticated pop | 📸 via Pinterest
This bathroom tho. The marble raised sink and apron is beyond beautiful. We also love to layer an antique, decorative mirror on a full wall mirror for such a chic look! Working on something with RK Development ... so good! 💙 #powderroomgoals

Do you love this library / bar room we did as much as I do? The muted mix of greyish brown tones with the pops of French blue are timeless and elegant. We wanted it to have a sophisticated, but still comfortable feel for entertaining which I think we accomplished 🥃 #therinfretgroup | beautiful millwork by @mastertriminstallations
