Why do we attract the same kind of people over and over? .
We all love familiarity. We love to have a certain level of control over our surrounding. This means exploring something unfamiliar is fearsome and unpredictable for most. If you grew up in an abusive household with no external positive guidance, then that’s all you know. Interacting with someone who’s caring and genuine will feel odd and foreign. Trust issues are common due to unresolved trauma. The trauma I’m talking about doesn’t have to be anything significant, but it has been accumulating since birth. When that neighbor kid came over and took your toy when you were a year old, your subconscious took it in. Failure and trauma is part of life, which means they shape who we are as people and influence our decision making process throughout life. There are traumas we are able to recall as conscious memories and those buried in the subconscious
We either need to find ways to resurface those traumas and learn to heal them or break our current pattern in order to escape the cycle. People often ask why they always manage to meet the same type of guy/ girl over and over again, when all they want is someone “nice” and meet their dating standards. It’s not their fault, nor yours. But you have to realize that your subconscious is attracted to a certain type of person who makes you feel safe and provides a false sense of comfort. In other words, they are familiar to you and you know how to act around them. Obviously, if you’re questioning why you have a hard time meeting the “right” person, then you’re on the right track. Like the old saying goes, the first and most important step to sobriety is the realization that you have a problem
Our energy and vibration is our silent voice. A voice that is from the heart and received by the heart. It’s your choice to face the sun or have your back against it ☀️ choose wisely

Nächste Woche beende ich den Lehrgang zur Meditationsleiterin 🧘 Ich freue mich sehr darüber, so viel in der Ausbildung gelernt zu haben und bin neugierig, was noch kommen wird. Ab kommenden Donnerstag möchte ich nun regelmäßig einen Raum öffnen für Meditation und Inspiration in einer Kleingruppe von max. 8 Personen. Der Abend findet im Atelier Säulengasse 5 im 9. Bezirk statt.
Ich werde die maximal 20-minütigen Meditationseinheiten anleiten und dabei Techniken zur Fokussierung und Zentrierung der Aufmerksamkeit anwenden. Im Lauf der Abende können auch Achtsamkeitsübungen und leichte Körperübungen als Unterstützung der Meditation zum Einsatz kommen.
Anschließend gibt es Zeit, um sich auszutauschen, Tee zu trinken oder in Büchern und Zeitschriften zu schmökern.

Last night I was on the top of Saddleworth Moor, at Indian's Head (aka Wimberry Rocks), at sunset, with @bec.griffin.fly.
And yes those are my bare feet in the air!
Going barefoot while out in nature is very liberating and brings a sense of grounding, both literally and figuratively. Feeling the rocks beneath my feet, I was in touch with mother nature and this brought an overwhelming feeling of stillness, calm and perspective.
Connecting with nature, in mind and body, is one way we can achieve inner peace. It facilitates: 🌿 Stillness
🌿 Contemplation ... all of which help us to find relaxation of mind and body, acceptance (of yourself and others), gratitude, and compassion.
And all these things help us on a path to inner peace, wellbeing, and happiness.
If you don't fancy venturing up a big hill(!), you can instead try going barefoot in your garden or local park, and with your eyes closed, use it as a way to focus on your senses (touch, smell, sound etc), and as part of a mindful breathing exercise. 💛 ☀️ 💫
The best dialogue i liked is: “Daudte daudte mai har uss jagah pe pohoch gayi jahan itna shor tha, ki mai khud apni awaaz nai sun paa rahi thi”
ie “I ran and went to every place where there was so much sound, that I couldn’t hear my own inner voice”
How often we do this? Escapism. Escaping from our inner thoughts we distract ourselves with various things like noisy places, smoking, drinking, drugs, binge watching, sex, reckless driving, etc.
We think that we can only distract ourselves from our inner demons but in reality, we cant run away from them, just face them.

Today’s Challange: Do something for your spiritual soul. Maybe you go to church, maybe meditate, maybe you sing a song. Whatever it may be that feed your spiritual soul take a little time out of your day to do so.
Below is a great article that talks about four key principles to feeding your soul 1. is dietary 2. is gratitude about your food 3. is rest and exercise and 4. is pampering yourself. You don’t have to be religious to be spiritual thou for some religion plplays a an important role to their spiritual soul. Take care of yourself either way!
No-win situations can be torturous. They can lead us to avoidance, or to demanding that other people help solve our problems. We might passively wish something happen that forces us into a decision. It might seem there is no escape, but when we accept the reality in front of us, accept that there might be pain, accept that we might not get what we want - then we get into a position to make the best decision for us. Even better, we break out of the double bind.

It is so important that we never look at or try to deal with effect. Life may appear as person, place, or thing, but it is none of them
They are the decoy, and are illusions. It is not enough to think that wrong thoughts cause wrong effects, because wrong thoughts, so called, are themselves effect. They are the effects of a mind that is not God, and so are just malpractice
Effect does not have an effect. So we do not try to tinker with effects, because this is as abortive as trying to do something to the image in the mirror
We watch to see that nothing but God and His idea of anything, can occupy our Mind, and know that no other claim to mind can operate as our thinking. All malpractice comes at the point of consciousness, and it is here, and not over there, that we deal with the claim
Watch thought only. What is causative to your experience? The divine Principle (cause) remaining perfect, the divine idea (man, work, supply, church, etc.) remains perfect. Cause takes care of effect, but effect cannot have an effect

Not the Rule
You ever get in one of those moods, were you don’t want to be particularly friendly to anyone? Believe it or not that’s been me for the last few days. It’s like I’m speaking to people out of obligation and not because I want too. To a lot of you my attitude maybe quite understandable. But for a needy yak, yak like myself; it can seem a bit awkward. I guess I just have one of those weird personalities that thrives on conversation. But given the world we live in today; I suppose I’m the exception and not the rule.
My life generally revolves around just a few people, in the public sphere. The majority of people I know are through online experience, and in a way, that’s kinda sad. I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but through my façade of Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky, I isolate myself because due to my past I can be a jackass. Just ask my kids. My oldest reminded me yesterday that I seem to be a different person in public than at home. And to be honest, I don’t have a good answer as to why?
Maybe I shouldn’t let shit like that bother me, but it does. Through my mindfulness practice I’m trying to be a better person, I want to be more grounded and genuine. I don’t like being domineering or bullish. I never thought of myself as an Alpha Male, but then again it could simply be one of the many masks I wear. Living my life honestly has been my savior. It has given me the freedom to face my demons and my sins. But to be human we must learn to forgive. Without that then are all truly lose.

La vida es tan simple y nos la complicamos tanto. Basta con ver una flor, tiene pocos rasgos a simple vista -perfectos- y una estructura interna sumamente compleja y equilibrada. Sin embargo, lo que sucede en su interior es tan organizado y preciso, que la expresión de sí misma es belleza en estado puro.
Alcanzar la belleza en todo lo que nos rodea se logra si tenemos hacia dentro de cada uno, ese grado de inmensa complejidad perfectamente alineado y en equilibrio. Pero humanamente estamos dedicados a ornamentar, disfrazar y tratar de embellecer aspectos externos y poco auténticos de nosotros. Esta orientación es riesgosa; nos hace vivir en la resistencia, la duda y la inseguridad. Y es absolutamente comprensible, ¿quién no dudaría de una máscara?
Ayer estuve meditando sobre la simpleza del agua en un río; quizás haya moléculas que jamás pasen dos veces por el mismo lugar. El agua viaja en la corriente, el agua viaja con el viento. Y pude darme cuenta que esto resume cómo, lo que fluye viaja con el suspiro del corazón; agua y viendo, emociones y amor.
La simpleza es la clave para fluir y evolucionar. A dejarnos ser como flores, a soltarnos para volar como el agua.

Fun fact, the little curled up fox in the 5th and 6th photo was created using a new technique I attempted. Instead of attaching the fox to the leaf while it's still pliable, it was fused together in the kiln by placing the glazed fox over the glazed leaf. So as the glaze liquified in the heat of the kiln, the two separate pieces fused into one, the glaze acting as glue. Most of the times these glaze to glaze fusing incidents are unwelcome as that also occurs when you place two glazed pieces too close together in the kiln and they come out from the firing conjoined. This time it's a successful little experiment!
