By not adoring the worthy, people will not fall into dispute.
By not valuing the hard to get objects, people will not become robbers.
By not seeing the desires of lust, one’s heart will not be confused.
Therefore the governing of the saint is to empty one’s mind, substantiate one’s virtue, weaken one’s worldly ambition and strengthen one’s essence.
He lets the people to be innocent of worldly knowledge and desire and keeps the clever ones from making trouble with their wits.
Acts naturally without desire, then everything will be accomplished in its natural order.
Being the negative biased, cynical, atheistic, philosophically nihilistic person that I am, it's interesting to find that there are pieces of music that in my head approach sacred. Little Wing is such a piece. I didn't understand it at all when I was learning guitar, and even though now I can mostly reduce it to theory, that doesn't stop me hating myself a little bit for not playing it with deferential perfection. Luckily my psychology side let's me relax and post the video anyway :) #goodvibes#guitar#guitarist#cover#hendrix#jimi#philosophy#psychology#sacredmusic#gibson
Jean-Paul Sartre, was a French existentialist philosopher, playwright, novelist, screenwriter, political activist, biographer, and literary critic. He was one of the leading figures in 20th century French philosophy. In this clip, Sartre discusses the characteristics of a "classic intellectual" and its relationship to Hegel's notion of the "unhappy conscience.
How'bout some MidStrong Monday Motivation! ⠀
This one from one of my favorite Stoics, Seneca...⠀
"The fool, with all his other faults, has this also... he is always getting ready to live."⠀
Unfortunately, we all have fools in our lives. Most of the time, they don't need bells and bright costumes for us to recognize them. ⠀
The Fool, does and says dumb things. He makes dumb decisions. We all do that from time to time, right? But, the Fool doesn't learn from them. He keeps making them, compounding one foolish decision with the next. ⠀
One of those foolish decisions is his habit of "always getting ready to live." ⠀
The Fool makes a habit of putting off life. He believes he has an abundance of time. He does not. Neither do we. ⠀
Our time is maddeningly finite and seems to accelerate uncontrollably at times, especially as we age. ⠀
How are we going to use ours this week? Will we play the fool and procrastinate, again. Or can we break the doom loop of foolish decisions that squander our most precious resource on shallow tasks and stuff that won't really make a difference? ⠀
We all have choices. Let's make ours wisely! ⠀
Hope you have a productive week!⠀

Eventually, Napoleon ended up at the military college of Brienne, where he studied for five years, before moving on to the military academy in Paris. In 1785, while Napoleon was at the academy, his father died of stomach cancer.
This propelled Napoleon to take the reins as the head of the family. Graduating early from the military academy, Napoleon, now second lieutenant of artillery, returned to Corsica in 1786.
Back home, Napoleon got behind the Corsican resistance to the French occupation, siding with his father's former ally, Pasquale Paoli.
But the two soon had a falling out, and when a civil war in Corsica began in April 1793, Napoleon, now an enemy of Paoli, and his family relocated to France, where they assumed the French version of their name: Bonaparte.
Napoleon’s return to France from Corsica began with a service with the French military, where he rejoined his regiment at Nice in June 1793.

Title : As A Man Thinketh
Author : James Allen
Genre : self-help , philosophy
Pages : 71
Review : ~ " Man is made or unmade by himself in the armoury of thought he forged the weapons by which he destroys himself . "
While reading this book not a single time I had thought that this book was written in 1903 . All the thoughts and ideas sounds so new and practical even in today's life. James Allen have pointed out very precisely how thoughts affects us mentally , physically , spiritually and author have also shown the solution . I really loved this book it was like binge reading i completed it in a single day . 💡
We are the only one who are responsible for what we are going through either suffering or having fun both situations are created by us and we have the power to change the present situation and it totally depends on the way we think and peruse the things and people around us . 📚
The main idea is that man is the gardener of his mind and its his duty to keep the plot (mind ) safe from weeds and keep it beautiful with flowers and fruits by right , useful and pure thoughts . In this process we come to know that we are the director of our life . 💡
You will defiantly feel relax and great if you get those to the point statements of author in entire book it really made me recommend this book to all my friends who wants change in their life. It is one of the best book i have ever read in my life in the philosophy and self help genre . .
Very interesting insight from the philosopher A. Finkielkraut in the annual "Vertu" speach at Académie Française.
" ...il n’y aura pas de jours meilleurs, à moins que
nous plantions résolument nos talons dans le sol et que nous trouvions
en nous la ressource, c’est-à-dire la vertu de résister au sens de l’Histoire.
La tâche est urgente ; les chances de succès sont minces. " #firstname.lastname@example.org#academiefrancaise

There is much to be learned from stories and mythology. It serves as a great tool to illustrate the path of a hero.
It teaches us to complete our ulitmate deed, we must heed the call to adventure, and endure the difficulties.
Into the unknown we travel, disregarding ourselves, to serve the greater cause selflessly.
"So you mentioned how mythology could teach us about the path of the hero. I just feel that believing in stories could help shape your idea of the hero's journey but it wont make you experience it"
'Wheat Field with Cypresses', 1889 by Vincent van Gogh.
Impasto is a painting term that refers to the use of thickly textured, undiluted, paint that appears almost three-dimensional on the canvas. When an artist uses the impasto technique they usually leave visible brush strokes on the finished painting. They apply the undiluted color to the canvas, frequently with a palette knife, and mix colors on the canvas to attain the desired color. When the painting is viewed from the side the paint is seen sticking out from the canvas in globs.
Van Gogh is said to be a pioneer in using the impasto technique. Van Gogh used impasto not just to add dimension to his paintings but to add emotion and movement. We see this movement in the swirling clouds of Wheat Field with Cypresses and Starry Night. The same colors and images could have been created with a traditional painting technique but the movement and emotion of the painting would be missing.
Cypresses gained ground in Van Gogh’s work by late June 1889 when he resolved to devote one of his first series in Saint-Rémy to the towering trees.
This painting is now present at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York city.

Don't let obstacles make you stray from your track🏆
Most people greatly underestimate their possibilities. Usually, big goals come along with big obstacles. However, as insurmountable as these obstacles might appear, there is almost always a way to get around them. All it requires is a combination of willpower and creativity, and to not let momentary failure demotivate you.

Hello dear friend. I know you have missed me. but escaping reality is what I’m good at keeping. If I hold a pen then I know I can breathe. but most days the black hole terrifies me. and if I believed in myself. maybe I would grow wings. but no-one taught me how and where do I learn such things. I’m always living in my shadow. afraid of everything. even of you my dear heart. it’s why I haven’t been writing. it’s easier to live with my head in the sand. even though regret and the desire to break free threatens to burn. sometimes it only takes one small step. and as this pen flows across the page. I think to myself. damn it feels good to bleed. but for how long and for who. I guess it’s true. goodbyes aren’t just endings. but beginnings too. .
Always stick to your values ⭐ Even in tough times. Agree?
Humans are social beings. We seek for friendships and generally positive relationships and exchange with other humans. However, it is important not to let your self esteem be negatively impacted by times of perceived loneliness. You will then run the risk of trying to socially bond with people that you know are not good for you or don't share the same values as you, as you are longing for a quick fix of your situation. On the other side, when you know your self-worth even in socially tough times, you will be able to stick to your principles and values also in terms of human relationships, and therefore put yourself in a position where you will surround yourself only with people that are good for you and share similar values, leading to a much better social situation in the long-term.
