PART 2 - So after months of healing (it happens slowly at 58 🙁) I FINALLY got to ride again last weekend. I repaired my bike and we hit BAJA. My buddies @jdeykes@zach_____martin and non-insta Rob spent a few days doing what BAJA does best... parking bikes in the room, enjoying great food, great laughs, great terrain, great scenery and of course a few adult beverages. It was epic, and just what I needed after a long haul of challenges.
Nothing beats the feeling of tearing it up with your amigos and feeling worn out at the end of the day with a huge smile on your face.
My wrist and hands did pretty well and they need more riding to get stronger. I can’t wait!
My race will most likely be postponed a year due to finances, bike prep and body prep. The original plan was a new bike early this year and lots of riding and training in the months prior. With 6 weeks left, I’m behind the curve and I want to do it right. Disappointing but losing my folks and getting hurt, it’s simply not been the year I planned. For now, I’m just stoked I’m riding again! #livetorideridetolive#gettingoldsucks#ageisastateofmind#baja#ridebaja#badroadsbringgoodpeople#coyotecals
Join us as we take you to some of the most remote mountains and gorgeous coastline riding anywhere! We will be riding through some of Northern Baja’s mountain roads and then flip to paved roads along the coast to some of Baja’s most quaint destinations and awe inspiring scenery. The off road riding sections will be friendly enough for you to ride a larger bike (BMW 1200 GS as an example) loaded with your own luggage for the trip. For this trip we will stay in all hotels so your luggage needs can be reduced to clothes and personal items. Tacos and beer is the saying…and it’s true! The fish taco originated in Baja…or at least it makes sense that it would have. We will have ample opportunity for fish tacos and numerous other culinary options that are special in Baja!
Whether attending or not, we recommend you click 'Going' on this FB event to stay current on trip updates and to network with other riders.

Our goal is to share our passion for riding and discovering remote locations on adventure and dual sport motorcycles with newer and seasoned riders! If you are new at this, we were all new at this once too and we had challenges finding good information about products, trips, groups, and classes. We want to be your resource for finding not only everything you need, but the best the industry has to offer. (And then go riding!) #West38Moto#BMWmoa#AdventureMoto
...circa 2006 week-long Baja trip. When I used to #ridered along with everyone else. I try not to remember how much crap I had stuffed into my backpack, it probably weighed 75 lbs and felt much heavier clicking through these whoops; somehow I made it all look smooth on my CRF450X. We stayed a few nights at Mike's Sky Rancho and hit up some insane single track along the way. #Honda#ridebaja#explore#adventure#dualsport#4stroke#socaloverland

Yes, it’s another bloody church, but this one has an ancient olive tree. The Misión San Francisco Javier de Viggé-Biaundó was the Jewel in the Jesuits crown. Of all the missions, this is regarded as the most beautiful in Baja. The once arduous journey to get to the mission is now a spectacular ride along a serpentine road through the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range. Road signs proclaiming “Camino Sinuoso” indicate the level of fun a gal can have on her motorcycle in these parts. As part of the Jesuit’s failed endeavor to become self-sufficient they planted an olive grove. The massive olive tree in the image is over 300 years old and still bears fruit. It is said to be the oldest olive tree in Baja. #missions#motorcycles#olivetree
