Hey y’all! 👋🏼☕️ Happy to be back in my hometown New Orleans, Louisiana visiting! 𓃗 Made it in time for Ate Vicky’s wedding (even after the flight delays!), spent time at the French Quarter (had some beloved @cafedumonde that I’ve missed so much that I ate all of mine SOOO fast! 😂) and got to meet up with a bunch of family & childhood cousins, reunited! ♔
Thanks to Uncle Deo and Tita Marjo for welcoming us again and having us stay in Slidell with y’all! Missed everyone so much! ♡ (and for the Cajun crabs & shrimp I missed so mucho!! 😩💗) 𑁍
Ain’t nothin like good ol’ New Orleans style cuisine and hometown vibes ꨄ
Dancing and singing, eating fried chicken and getting married! 🤗 It takes months to plan and then over too soon, yet worth every splendid moment. These days are always so filled with joy and love, and I’m beyond grateful to be part of them. @gabbycharters and @bcharters2, *thank you* for allowing us to be part of your day, and helping make memories to be cherished for a lifetime. You are such a beautiful couple and I wish you all the happiness this world can offer. Here’s to your future! Congratulations! 🎊🥂❤️ ! !
Honey Chipotle Chicken Tenders on a Cheddar Cornbread Waffle.. .
I just used a favorite cornbread recipe and put it in my waffle maker.
* 12 chicken tenderloins
* 6-8 cups oil or shortening
* 1 egg
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 cup chicken broth
* 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
* 3/4 cup flour
* 1 1/2 cups flour
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon paprika
* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Honey Chipotle Sauce
* 2/3 cup honey
* 1/4 cup water
* 1/4 cup ketchup
* 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
* 1-2 teaspoons chipotle chili powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1. In a small saucepan combine honey, water, ketchup, vinegar, chili powder, salt, and hot sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
2. To make batter, in a medium bowl whisk together egg, milk, chicken broth,salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Whisk in flour.
3. Combine all ingredients for breading in a pie plate and mix well.
4. Heat oil in a cast iron skillet to 350 degrees. Dip chicken in batter and then roll to coat in breading.
5. Fry 4 at a time, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 4 minutes.
6. Toss tenders in sauce and serve. ———now, I did not toss my tenders in the sauce like the recipe says. I just drizzled it over everything. You do you though. .

SPOOKY PROPERTY COUNTDOWN TO HALLOWEEN -
In the spirit of Halloween (pun intended) I'll be sharing our area's spookiest properties. Are you ready for some chills? Keep tuning into @coolmurphynola! ... 1st property, Felicity & St Joseph Plantations:
... Felicity Plantation- sister plantation to St Joe Plantation- isn't reportedly haunted, but it sure feels sinister why? It is one of Hollywood's most famous plantations! (see film credits below). Why? It's beautiful. It's got a great history. And, it remains an active plantation to this day. Keep off private property!!! .... Built in 1843, Felicity plantation rests on the banks of the Mississippi river about 40 minutes outside of New Orleans, in Vacherie. It was gifted to Felicite Emma, and her new husband, Septime Fortie as a wedding present. At the time of her marriage, Félicité's father was the South's wealthiest man, and you can see it in the construction of this grand home.
Felicite went on to have fourteen children. Three, who sadly did not make it to adulthood. At one point, the children were tutored by anti-Bonapartist to abolitionist Elisee Reclus!
The home turned over ownership several times after the war, eventually landing in the hands of the Waguespack family, who continue to own and run the sugar plantation to this day. ... .
Books are the perfect decor. This room is a great example of simple fall/winter decor! #homedecor@magnolia
