Home. Familiar surroundings . An out pouring of love. That place where you can kick off your shoes and be you. Let your hair down and inhale that compelling sense of calm.
💋🍷💋Bringing back the memories of faraway places and people who touched you with passion on their journeys. To tell the stories that need to be heard.
💋🍷💋But it is home where I run to. Home where the must filled nights of harvest wrapped evenings delicately remind me of where I am.
💋🍷💋In the name of Wine...
Throwback to 3 weeks ago when we visited Lake Daylesford and checked out this beautiful Lake Daylesford.
We visited during the golden hour, just before the sunset. The view was absolutely stunning and we love how quiet and relaxing the ambience was 😍
A great spot to step away from the city life 💆🏻

Volver a casa 2/3
VOLVER A CASA
Significa re encontrarte contigo.
―Gol A Gong

Iya, aku lebay. Karena nanti bisa stroke kalau serius terus.

Be still my beating heart❤️Fall golden hour with the fairest of them all. Kentucky, thank you for the smiles, the memories, and for leaves crunching beneath our feet and the cool fall breeze. As we made our journey home, we had to stop to hike and explore @shakervillageky . A place the whole family will enjoy, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is just 30 miles South of Lexington. You can stay, dine, or just enjoy the day with incredible activities and events throughout the year. Regularly occurring events include riverboat rides, paddleboarding, cycling, music on the lawn, horse drawn carriage rides, and gardening classes. Special events include Hard Cider Fest, Harvest Fest, Halloween Boo! Cruise, Spirit Strolls, Family Quail Dinner, and Blessing of the Hounds. A visit to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill will make you truly wonder why we would ever spend so much time on screens. Outdoor play abounds and the connection with the natural land is felt the moment you wonder down one of their many paths to discovery. On hiking trails I have seen deer, butterflies, rabbits everywhere, the most beautiful fields of wildflowers, and even a baby skunk! Wooden swings are positioned throughout the property and a visit to the farm to meet Poco the mini donkey and to see the zinnias in full bloom is a must. The way this place is able to refresh your spirit and satisfy your soul will leave you longing for a life that is deep, yet simple. Whether you make a day trip or spend the night, you will enjoy the stillness and the natural beauty that is Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill. Has anyone ever noticed that The Bronze Horseman is not just Peter the Great and his horse? When leaving the Summer Garden, I just happened to notice that the horse was standing on something and looked closer to find a snake. Could this be symbolism for St. George slaying the serpent?
I cannot believe I missed this little detail back in June last year.
When we're young we may sometimes wish for time to pass quickly, so school will be over and we can enjoy our time off. When we're old, we may wish time passed more slowly as we have fewer remaining years with which to enjoy our lives. If we perceive time more slowly when we're processing the unfamiliar, then the frequent introduction of the unfamiliar could help our perception of time from rapidly shrinking. While we still have plenty to learn about the way our brains work, if our lives might feel longer and fuller by frequently trying new things it seems like a worthwhile endeavor right? So why not do something out of the ordinary? Get out of your comfort zone. .
My first night dive occurred in Thailand above a reef with plenty of fauna. We headed out at sunset and took a beautiful slow ride out to enter our site. We had our lights strapped to us. No current with one of the best visibility I think I've ever had. I turned off the lights 80-100 ft. under the water for 30 seconds and just marvel in how calming and beautiful life underwater was. It was how I'd imagine floating in space would be. Utter relaxation gently neutral and deadly quiet except for our breathing. The gentle glow of bioluminescence. After a small amount of time I collected myself, turned my lights back on, gear checked and moved along as the group started to leave the area.
Another great dining experience last night, checking out the new @uni.bali with my long time mate for my page @balifood. We’ve been friends since we were journos-in-training. The best thing about having a travelling mate is that when we can sync our calendars, we get to experience great places together, it doesn’t always happen. Just as I get back to Bali, she takes off. Lesson here is to live for the moment, find the balance, ( as we’re both working mothers, although I’m the empty-nester 🙋) and celebrate life’s small moments, and the people in your life who lift you up. Happy travels @ondybali 😄
Did you know that there are over 1000 Buddhist temples in Kyoto?! It felt like I went to so many but it was all a drop in the temple bucket when you think about all the options here. And each one is unique! Here I am at Kiyomizu-dera and just the grounds here took me a half day to explore! 🏯♥️// #SundayFunday 😎 #AlanaInKyoto

These rice paddies may have you thinking of Bali, but notice the #greentea bushes lining this hillside and you’ll know you’re in Japan ↠ this is #Wazuka 🏞, one of many gorgeous green tea villages just outside Kyoto!
For the tea obsessed (like me) you’ll be in heaven. The tea grown in this region is prized for its quality. If you look closely, you can see the Jikagise (dark covers) on the tea bushes that are being shaded from the sunlight because they are ready for harvesting.
I was lucky enough to be here to see the harvest taking place and bought so much loose leaf tea, I started to worry about my baggage allowance! 🧳🌱🍃// #TeaTime 🍵 #AlanaInKyoto

Browsing through old photos and deciding what to do in the winter break in January. I’ll totally be going to Brazil to visit my family, but want to stop somewhere in Europe before going there. Where would you go in Europe in the end of January?
This old theater in Pamukkale is simply dreams come true! ♥️
