In light of battling Systematic Racism, it’s important to understand that language like this is buried deep in property deeds and covenants. Redlining was created during the Great Depression to keep rich white neighborhoods rich and white by denying mortgage loans to people of color in certain areas. Thankfully much has changed since and Seattle thrives on diversity. But this is an example of how systemic racism is the foundation of how we live today and unfortunately is still alive like the restrictions shown in this deed.
As a real estate professional, it’s my job to catch language like this and educate my clients. Thanks to the Civil Rights Act in 1968 shortly after Dr. MLK’s assassination, the Fair Housing Act was also implemented which prohibits discrimination in housing regardless of color, race, sex, religious beliefs and disability.

Yes and no. ⬇️
The “yes” - We are more cautious, more purposeful, and have expanded our resources to their greatest potential. Buyers are able to home shop virtually and sellers are able to showcase their houses virtually. For in person showings, it’s shoes off at the door and wearing gloves and masks inside the home. It’s incredible what can be accomplished when everyone works together to keep our community safe.
The “no” - Numbers are consistent! Chatham County stats for last 7 days:

The Savannah market is still on 🔥. Sellers are selling and buyers are buying.
