I heard something the other day, something that’s been rattling around inside me. I keep tripping over the thought of it throughout my day and even sometimes when I wake up at night. It’s wasn’t my truth until I heard in and accepted it but it’s mine to live by now.
Here it is: There is light and dark, there is good and evil and it’s in each and every one of us. The dark isn’t always showing up as the darkest of dark, worst of evil. The dark in us can show up all day long when we don’t even notice it. The dark shows up in us when we talk negatively to ourselves and when we put ourselves down — even in our heads. The light is our goodness, our positive vibes, our joy, our love, our peace and all the times we are being kind to ourselves. When we’re dark to anyone else or to ourselves that is the dark winning over the light. — I’m working on my light and reminding myself when I feel the dark that I don’t have to choose that. The most beautiful part in this is — when there is a little dark in a room full of light you can hardly take notice (even in ourselves). However, when there is a tiny light in the darkest of spaces it’s obvious and we walk towards it.
Choosing myself, choosing light. How does this idea sit with you?
