On Pryor Creek, in 1884, Chief Plenty Coups established his land allotment at the sacred spring. In his youth, this spring had been shown to him in a vision quest. In order to fulfill his visions, Plenty Coups built a residence and planted cottonwood trees similar to the trees planted at Mount Vernon. Plenty Coups visited Mount Vernon, George Washingtons home, in 1881 and was very impressed by the physical structure of this house. Chief Plenty Coups was also inspired by the fact that anyone could visit this historical place of the first Great White Chief [George Washington] and that he had led his people through a difficult period in history.
On this property [now the Chief Plenty Coups State Park] Chief Plenty Coups established gardens and orchards to surround his grain and hay, as he had observed at Mount Vernon. Chief Plenty Coups understood that the Crow Nations survival and traditions depended on learning to adapt to farming and ranching.

Did you know that Andorra 🇦🇩 can fit into London more than three times? Or that it’s the only country in the world 🌍 that has Catalan as the official language? Or that Andorra la Vella is the highest capital in Europe with 1,023 metres above sea level? This tiny country in the middle of the Pyrenees is perfect for ski 🎿 enthusiasts, tax free shopping 🛍 and getting in touch with nature 🌲. If you’re not into winter ❄️ sports, I recommend going in autumn to see how the leaves 🍃 turns to gold 🍂.

VISITANDO GRAZ 🇦🇹: 2° parte ☺️

From my sky scanning mission a couple of days ago. I spent the sunset staring up into the sky looking for aesthetically pleasing plane trails.
If you’re curious, I captured this with my Opteka 650-1300mm (with 2X- 1300-2600mm)
I purchased the lens a couple of years ago to hunt down the solar eclipse. Feels good to bust it out once in a while to see what’s going on in the sky out there.
Here’s a little shot from my time in New York. Standing on one of those many steam vents you find in the city.
Excited to say that I’ve been nominated for a Shorty Award for ‘Best in Travel’
If you’re feeling a little cheeky, why don’t you saunter over to the link in my bio, and give your boy a cheeky vote. Today’s the last day of voting, the day before my birthday.
Poetic? I very much think so.
In other news, I’m headed to Iceland for a short bout of aurora chasing and fun in the snow. Anything in particular you’d like to see and learn while I’m out there ?
