Major: Electrical Engineering, minors in mathematics, cognitive science, international relations @UPenn
Desired AFSC: Intelligence

Why the Air Force: Why the AF: I find the Air Force mission best fits my vision of career progression and provides the most intellectually stimulating professions. I feel like my talents would contribute best to the Air Force mission.
Favorite thing about ROTC: My favorite thing about ROTC is definitely the people. My wingmen are the people who keep me motivated, help me through the day, and make all of the hard work worth it. They constantly push me to become a better version of myself when I feel like I’m not capable. I love learning with them and watching my friends grow into strong, confident leaders. It shows me that we are a part of something much greater than ourselves.

We are back for another #WingmanWednesday !! This week we are featuring C/4C Caron!-
“Hello everyone! I’m C/4C Caroline Caron, and I am a freshman here at SJSU! I am currently a Graphic Design major, however I am planning to switch into the Psychology field. My goal is to finish the AFROTC program, commission as an officer and practice Occupational Therapy in the military. My hometown is Newark, CA however I am originally from the East Coast. Aside from ROTC, I am also in the SJSU Club Swim Team, and a Filipino organization called Akbayan! Here are a few fun facts about me: - I am a Military Brat; I’ve moved across the country 5 times - I have been a competitive swimmer since the age of 7 - Drawing/Creating Art makes me happy
- My ROTC sister is C/Caños
- My favorite animals are: giraffes, sea otters, polar bears, and my dog
My favorite thing about ROTC so far is how I have to expand my comfort zone. Through ROTC, we learn leadership skills as well as the importance of teamwork and effective communication skills. Each member is valued and must work together to succeed. We all are representing something bigger than ourselves in the Air Force and each must rise to the challenge in order to do so.”
This is always fun to see happening in our gym-whether it’s a mother-daughter duo like this one, friends, siblings, or husband and wife!
We love seeing the way people work together and challenge each other to work hard.
That brings us to client appreciation week! Do you want to bring in someone to workout with you? Well you can!
It’s Wingman Wednesday this week for our clients!
If you are training with a trainer on Wednesday you can bring in a friend, sibling, or parent to workout with you and your trainer! Just let your trainer know if you are going to bring someone so they know!
Thank you to all our clients-you are the reason we do what we do. ♥️
This week’s #WingmanWednesday features C/2d Lt Balanga! -
C/2d Lt Balanga is an AS300 and this semester’s Air Expeditionary Officer! He is a Forensic Science major with a minor in Chemistry at San Jose State and is originally from Corona, California. He’s a member of the Forensic Science Club and the SJSU Newman Club. He also volunteers as an altar server for Mass at the SJSU Newman Center. His desired AFSC is Tactical Air Control Party Officer or Security Forces Officer. He says his favorite part of ROTC is “the amount of support you get from the cadets and cadre to help you reach commissioning. I definitely would not be where I am without it.” His advice he would offer cadets would be that “your time in college/ROTC will be over before you know it. So spend it wisely and pursue activities that will develop you as a leader and person.” Some fun facts about him are:
- He was in the movie “Bedtime Stories” and an episode of “Good Luck, Charlie”.
- He works at Stanford’s Department of Public Safety
- He plays the trumpet!
This week for #WingmanWednesday we are featuring C/2d Lt Cervantes! - “Hello everyone! I am C/2d Lt Cervantes, and I’m in my AS300 year. I attend UC Santa Cruz, where I am pursuing an Applied Physics major and an Electrical Engineering minor. My hometown is Disneyland, California. My desired AFSC is pilot. Currently, I am an FTP FLT/CC (shoutout to Tango flight!). I am involved in both Arnold Air Society and Precision Drill Unit, where I have held multiple positions in each. I am the project manager for a NASA academy and am also involved in LGAD faculty research. My favorite part of ROTC is the camaraderie we all have as we realize we are all working towards the same mission! Though I’m a crosstown, some of my best friends are from SJSU.
My advice for cadets: measure yourself by your growth. If you fail, don’t beat yourself up or dwell on it. If you succeed, don’t hold your head up too high. No matter where you’re at now, always strive for better!
Some facts about me are:
I have a six year old sister that I love very dearly!
I have a soft spot for cats and chihuahuas; share pictures of your pets with me!
I am obsessed with corn. Due to the American industrial food complex, traces of corn are in almost everything we eat and use. Toothpaste? Corn. Make-up? Perfume? Corn. Batteries? Corn!”
