Sorry I've been absent recently! I've been really sick but I am on the mend now. But, because I was sick I missed posting that yesterday was Ivy's birthday! My sweet weirdo turned 3 and I'm still not sure how to feel about it.
I've learned so much about her and dogs in general in the last year since her 2nd birthday, and I'm sure she has even more to teach me. She's so frustrating, and can be very annoying, but I love her more than anything in the world. .
She has made so so much progress on the last year and I'm sure she will continue to learn and grow with whatever the next year throws at us. Happy belated birthday Ivy 🎂🎉🎈
What do you think is the most important skill to have as a dogowner?
I think it's patience and a big heart. Having an anxious dog like Frodo can sometimes feel like three steps forward and two steps back. Every step we take, can be overthrown by something seemingly unimportant. On good days we can conquer the world. We can pass triggers, if they're managed correctly ofcourse, and we can function as a team on long, relaxing walks.
On bad days, we curl up on the couch and wait for the storm in Froo's head to pass again. We need to empty the trigger bucket, and make sure that the stresslevel in his blood can decline to a somewhat normal state. If that means that we can't go on walks for several days, that's okay. Nothing HAS to happen, and everything is possible.
Today seems to be a "world conquerer day". Watch us run the world 🧐🙌

Marley was only with us a few days of this year, but everyday of the last thirteen. It wasn’t long enough. Photos thanks to Georgia Shelle who is not only super talented, but also incredibly compassionate. I don’t know how every photo isn’t full of tears, but she managed to capture the joy that was Marley even on a sad day. 💛 #goldenretriever#goldenlove#love#fortworth#yellowdog
