One year ago today I was adopted
And came Home 🏠 with my very own human.
One year ago tonight I snuggled with my human
And knew I am complete....

TO BE KILLED – 12/16/2019
He’s exuberant, happy, healthy, and has the biggest, sweetest smile we’ve ever seen. But poor JAZZ has yet to find his forever family, and he is only one & half years old. This is his second stay @ shelter, & imagine how disappointed he was to find himself back there. When he was adopted back in July of this year, he thought he had finally found the happiness that had eluded him. Wiggly, social, & incredibly sweet, he was so anxious to please. And instead of loyalty, he was ABANDONED in a building lobby near Chauncey Street, helpless to follow his parent out the door, wagging his tail ; pleading with his eyes for them to not leave him there as they cruelly walked away. His tail, that had been wagging so happily, started to slow down, hang lower, & finally stop. His confusion and heartbreak all over his sweet face. Yes, he is a high energy dog, & yes, he needs a patient, EXPERIENCED family who will provide him the structure and training he needs to remain calm in the face of distraction – “down” and “place” commands, and enough activities to keep him engaged & busy , tired & happy. He hasn’t a bad bone in his body, he just needs guidance like all young #puppies do. If you can give Jazz a home for the #holidays please hurry.

FRIENDLY AND OUTGOING, JUST TERRIFIED AWAY FROM HER FAMILY AND IN THE SHELTER!
It is hard being a 19lb dog in a shelter with much larger #dog all around. It is ever harder when you are not so sure about those other dogs, & prefer the company of cats much better. Piper is trying, but she really just wants to be out of there and back in a home. Sadly her person lost their living arrangements and Piper and her person are now homeless. Piper is friendly & outgoing, good with older kids & tolerant of cats. She is housetrainned and pee-pee pad trained & even knows some of her commands. This is a good girl who is down on her luck, & just praying for her #Christmas miracle. So please consider opening your home & your heart to Piper & save her life! #SAVEPIPER

Beautiful Annie #A5333385 arrived as a stray. She waited for her family to claim her but sadly no one came for this 14 year old beauty.☹️💔
Taken for a visit to a private Vet for a Senior Well Check it was revealed Annie was constipated. A few doses of Miralax did the trick solving her tummy issues. She has a dental pending but is otherwise a healthy senior girl.👏🏻
Annie would love to be home for the holidays🎄💚🏡...hoping her special adoption angel discovers her soon!😻🐾❤️

Happy Gotcha Day Astro! 2 years ago we picked you up from the cargo area at the airport. You were so excited to meet us, you came out of the crate wagging your tail. When we got home you explored every inch of our house. Now you are the best big brother. We all love you sooooo much! #gotchaday#adopt@animalrescuekingdom

BOTIA A GOLDEN OLDIE WHO HAS HAD A REAL HARD LIFE, CAN YOU HELP HER?
Our lovely Botia is in need of a home, she is approximately 7 years old. She is a female German Shepherd found in a terrible state and taken to the pound.
Height: 50cm (approx) Weight: 35kg (approx).
Botia is an older girl desperate for a kind person to allow her to spend her retirement in comfort. She loves the attention of the volunteers and is always seeking them out for a kiss in that big head of hers. She is very loving and is very clear that as a true german shepherd she is very loyal.
She is a lovely dog who hasn’t had any luck in life, she does have leishmaniasis but this is under control and managed by inexpensive drugs. We have made a promise to Botia that we will do our very best to help find her a home, someone who will love and care for her for the rest of her life. She had been terribly neglected when she arrived at the pound and was in a terrible state, she had never known the love of a family, so sad. Botia would be best as an only dog.
She improved with the help of everyone at the pound, whilst in Spain. We now need to find that one special person to help her in the UK, if that could be you please contact us, she so deserves a home and we don’t want her to have to stay in kennels for long.
Thank you to @lunarrphotographyy that took the wonderful photos in this post

A sweet, sweet update on WAAGR Alumna, Brandy Jean, who has very clearly been living the golden life: "I wanted to send you an update on a lovely gal we adopted from WAAGR back in 2012.
Her name is Brandy Jean ( #1275 ). She was a 4 yo breeder surrender at the time, who had recently had her third litter of puppies. She was surrendered with her breeder mate and a few puppies.
We took her in as a foster and adopted her a few weeks later. She was shy and fearful at first, but quickly learned that our home was a safe place and that car rides go to fun places :) She is the sweetest dog and we love her very much. At 11 now, she is doing well. She is older, wiser and more trusting. Interestingly, over the years she turned from a redhead to a blonde. Her hair is still curly and all over the place :) In 2015 we moved to southeast Colorado, where she enjoys the great outdoors, camping and hiking. She still hasn’t taken to swimming, and that’s ok. She prefers to stay clean and dry and enjoys watching her friends swim after sticks. She will gently venture up to her elbows if a stick lands close enough to shore, wagging her tail and smiling with joy.
She has a little brother named Milo now, who came from a local Golden rescue. She is a great big sister and Milo likes to snuggle up to her.
I wanted to thank you again for helping Brandy find her way into our family where she is loved and appreciated.
Thank you for the wonderful work that you do for all these lovely dogs."
Olive update. Well gang, she’s ahead of schedule! The incision is completely healed and she is putting weight on her leg. We are working on her exercises to build the muscle back up and are pushing her to walk a little further each day. Thanks to everyone checking in!!

Handsome Wrangler was just surrendered. This guy will be 1 in January and needs a home that can dedicate the time and effort to continue his training, and ensure he is properly mentally and physically stimulated. Wrangler can be destructive if he isn't. Always remember, a tired dog is a well behaved dog!
Weimar has joined his brother Rostock in foster care to find out what living in a house is all about. Needless to say he has fully embraced it and they have both been star pupils - now housetrained, playing outside and chilling inside and sleeping through the night in their crates. They are both waiting for their new families and while they are super cute together and really enjoy each others company they would also be fine on their own. Contact us at the East Alabama Humane Society (334) 298 6446 or message on facebook to meet them.
Look at that sweet face. With those cropped ears, she looks like she has a worried brow, but she is really a happy little sweetheart. She can be a little timid or nervous but is very encouraged and relaxes with a little reassurance and loving.
Citronella is friendly and loves giving kisses. She enjoys her walks and is great on the leash. She loves sniffing and exploring and entertains herself by rolling around in the grass. Citronella is treat motivated and is so gentle when taking treats. Come meet this gentle soul, she's ready for a home of her own.
If you have other dogs at home, they'll need to meet to be sure they can be friends. Her adoption fee covers spay, microchip and current vaccinations.
Happy to be home for the holidays!🎄Here are Mauer & Milo, formerly Reesie & KitKat, in their new forever home. The adopters fell in love with Mauer and returned to adopt his brother KitKat.😻It looks like a perfect fit, complete w/ a cuddly dog and kids of their own. Congratulations to you and your new family.💞We are so happy for you!

I literally suck at bottle feeding but have been forced to take a bit of a crash course to keep this one fat and happy. This is Fuller McCallister - he is now on a bottle because he got sick and had to be separated from his fam. That being said, he’s doing MUCH BETTER and is gaining weight now 💪!!! Sound on for some cute puppy suckling noises 😊. He’ll be available thru @heartsandbonesrescue when he’s old enough to be adopted 💕
Whitney keeps checking her mailbox to see if any adoption applications have come in for her. Santa Paws has yet to reply. 🎅🐈❤️🏡 🎀🎅🌲🐈🎀💚❤️🐾🎀
She was a rescued bottle baby that we thought found her forever home in 2016. But things changed for her and she ended up in a Houston shelter. 😞 This sweet loving girl was one day away from euthanasia when Feral Friends was notified because of her microchip! With some extraordinary help from our volunteers and driving through a torrential downfall and flooding Whitney Houston was picked up and safely transported back to the DFW area. She is now back up for adoption looking for her true forever home! Without the help from our volunteers and this great coordination effort this rescue could not have been done!
Whitney is 3 years and 9 months old.
You can find her complete bio at feralfriends.org.
This sweet-tempered silver tabby wishes for a holiday forever home.

Meet Jet! If you're not so into jet-zooming dogs, Jet may actually be for you! Despite his name, Jet is a pretty chill guy. He doesn't zip across the yard, or hop up into the sky; he's a bit of a shy guy at first. Jet takes a little time to warm up, but once he does, he's happy for some pets and attention. He's also happy to show off his tricks "sit" and "paw" for treats! Jet walks nicely on the leash, and already has some training and basic manners. He was brought to the shelter as a stray, but it's clear he had someone at some point who taught him some things. :-( Jet's finders said he had done fine around children and with their Chihuahua. Per Jet's dog eval notes, he "allowed greetings and co-existed throughout". If you have kids or dogs at home, please bring them in for an intro!
You can visit this handsome Jet-black guy at the MCAC West shelter in Phx (2500 S. 27th Ave.). Jet is listed at 3 years old. #A4341480
Shy girl Lavender would really love a home for the holidays! 💜 If Lavender were a color, she would be just what her name suggests- soft, gentle and mellow. But we all have a little electric in us, right? Lavender is just waiting for that special person to come along and help her show her fuschia colors! 😁
Lavender walks nicely on leash and is a calm gal overall. I think she would do best with a quieter home, so she can have some space to come out of her shell. Once she knows you, she seeks attention from you, and enjoys gentle pets. Lavender did well overall with her dog eval, and played off and on with the other dogs. If you have a dog at home already, bring them in for an intro and staff can help everyone meet.
You can visit 3 year old Lavender at the MCAC West shelter in Phx. More pics and info on her Adoptapet bio here:

Kenny - now Fernando - has arrived at his #foreverhome and is part of an amazing pack!
#Repost@wolfgang2242 with @get_repost
He's home! This little guy (on the right) used to live in a cage. He's about 11 years old, he's from Puerto Rico and now he's forever a part of the Wolfgang family. How he got here is kind of magical. He was pulled from confinement in Puerto Rico by @strayfromtheheart . They assessed his condition and although he will need chiropractic treatments from living in such cramped quarters, somehow his trusting spirit is intact.
I happened to hear his story from a follower and contacted @strayfromtheheart who then found a way to get him from Puerto Rico to New Jersey. I knew if we could get him on to Colorado, I could give him a home where he would always be safe and loved.
I posted his picture a few days ago hoping to find someone he could ride with who was already making the trip to Colorado. @kristenanniebell (12M followers) reposted it and even @jillianmichaels offered to help. Soon thousands of people all over the world were thinking of ways to get him here. Then, while we were sorting through all these options, I received a text from my friend and next door neighbor Sofia. She would be in Newark on Friday, flying out the same day, and would consider it an honor to bring him home. The answer was right next door all along.
I don't know if these kinds of things happen more this time of year, or if we just notice them more this time of year, but it does feel full of the holiday spirit. I will make sure he gets all the treatments he needs, and all the love he needs, and that he never again lives in a cage.
I renamed him Fernando so that he has a new name to go with his new life. Fernando you are loved. #doyouhearthedrumsfernando
If you’re considering adding a furry member to your family this holiday season, please remember that pets are a 10+ year commitment and not just a Christmas gift. 🎁 Also, I encourage you to choose adoption. Millions of shelter pets are euthanized each year. By choosing adoption, you are truly saving a life. Shelter pets are not broken, they just haven’t found their forever family yet. Rescue websites like Petfinder can even help you locate a certain breed if you have a preference.
Why not buy from a pet store/online? While many pet stores may use the term “adopt”, this is only to trick the buyers. Many online pet stores also pretend to be rescue groups. Don’t be fooled! Dogs (and other animals) purchased from pet stores/online typically come from puppy mills. Puppy mills are extremely inhumane breeding farms that focus on profit over the welfare of the animals. Mother dogs are forced to give birth again and again, usually without proper veterinary care and living conditions. Puppies are typically taken away from their mother too young as well as inbred, which causes genetic issues as the dog gets older.
I encourage you to do your homework before adding a furry pal to your family and always choose to adopt from a certified rescue group/shelter! #adoptdontshop 🐾
