What happens to retired climbing gear? Are they destined to collect dust while we renew our racks? Once trusted to catch our falls... Well their stories are not finished yet, they still have many to tell!
Join me at the upcoming @mountainmademarket located at Elevation Place to grab some repurposed art & journals to keep 2019's stories going & to start planning 2020's as it comes up quick!
A big thank you to @margo_talbot for giving me your first climbing Trad rack you owned ( that has since retired from the cliffs) to repurpose into journals I make from repurposing paper before it can think about being recycled. It's an honor to craft with equipment so personal.
Roger is helping me decide where to go for my big 4-0 next year. Anyone else do something exciting for their 40th? What did you do? With family? Just adults? Party at home? Weekend away? I really need some inspiration. Hit me with your ideas.
Heading off down south to hang out with this little ray of sunshine!
Taking a well deserved time out from work until I head off to Europe for Christmas... And to all the Bali people I’ve been trying to catch up with recently; I finally have time to surf/lunch/beach/adventure ! Let’s gooooo
I did a recce of Coire nan Lochan for a winter day I had planned this coming Monday, but there's a bit of an issue... All the snow has gone! It always amazes me how quickly snow can disappear on our hills; a five days of mild temperatures and it's all gone. I thought it would be a good idea to take up the guide book so I could clearly see where the routes were, which actually worked really well! Unfortunately it will just be the easy stuff for me this year 😁 .
“All the feels”...You know that saying the cool kids have been captioning for awhile? I don’t think I ever truly comprehended it until this trip.
One month abroad with my husband and one year old baby girl. I will tell you right now folks, that will truly give you ALL. OF. THE. FEELS.
It’s probably a good thing I didn’t allow myself to think about the sometimes daunting task of toting a toddler around multiple countries and taking that out of your comfort zone feeling of being in a country you’ve never been where they speak a language you don’t know and then throw the newly learned mama bear anxiety and protective mode on top of it.. now before you roll your eyes at me and “feel sorry” for us.. I did say all the feels, right?
Sully took her first steps in Greece. She made friends from all over the world and is extremely fond of quiche, croissants and gyro meat. We had family hikes on the island of Naxos with no other soul in site. Beaches to ourselves. Views there are no words for. Tours of the Acropolis.
I was so giddy about the contrasting architecture, the historical remains and restorations, the bright florals and cobblestone streets, the kind hospitality and amazing cuisine! No matter the ups and downs, each international trip we take continues to remind me of two things: 1. How awe-inspiring this world is and 2. How much we love our home!
I’ve never been more excited to get back to Montana, get the house decorated for Christmas and get rolling on all plans for the New Year. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to spend with my family and for clients that understand the need for me to (mostly) turn off work mode and recoup after a long 2019.
Cheers to a little wanderlusting and creative reboot! What a perfect way to roll into Thanksgiving Day. ❤️

In a little ball of stress as I get ready for the next adventure at the moment. Giving my hard drive a good tidy up, I found this from Kyrgyzstan and it's been a nice reminder as to why I'm doing this to myself!
This was taken off the back of a 4000m+ pass. We were wiggling our way down and I remember buzzing when we reached that patch of rubble below and realising that despite its underwhelming appearance, I was stood on my first glacier. I keep being warned about travel fatigue but I feel like if you can just keep celebrating the details, big or small, it should keep that beast away

Big changes are in the air. This feels like the year of change for me. My babies are growing, I’m straddling 2 acting markets, and my husband and I are talking about the possibilities of this next chapter. We’re investing in ourselves as well as some big adventures for 2020 and it’s making me feel... all the things! Excited, hopeful, a little nervous- it changes by the hour. 😆
But today, right now... 🎶 “feeling great, feeing good, how are you?”🎵 But really. How ARE you? Where are you emotionally as the year winds down?
