The Schaffer 6 just checked into the beautiful JW Marriot @desertsprings 🌵 for the weekend! If you have not been to this property be sure to watch my stories for my room and property tour. I started the weekend right with a signature facial at their world-class spa. We even took a boat ride with the kids over to Mikado, a Japanese Hibachi Steak House. Yes, you heard me ride “a boat ride”, 🚣♂️ the property is perched right in the center of a man-made lake and a plush golf course! Have you been to Desert Springs? Trivia: Jeju’s known for its black pork. Apparently, to tell if you’re eating the real thing, the skin side should have black spots where the hair roots are. The meat is also a deeper shade of red than normal pork.
The two words that come to mind when I think of New Zealand are landscapes & space. What do you think of? (I bet one of them is 🐑 lol)
If you can put aside some time on your travels to factor in the time it takes to make it to that perfect viewpoint, it's always going to be worth it. Give yourself extra time, because the pay off is views like this.
My advice is look around when you get there and go the opposite way to everyone else. That's where you'll find the views and space that others aren't paying attention to.
Looking forward to more views like this in the future!! #newzealand

One thing that struck me when I first landed in Myanmar was that every where men and women had applied on a distinctive face paint. What I dismissed as a occasional ritual is actually a daily beauty routine for most local people. Its called ‘Thanaka’ and is made from the ground bark of the thanaka tree. Its a natural sunscreen, anti-acne, and antibacterial. I have to admit that despite the harsh sun and humidity, most people had flaweless skin so its clearly working.
Shwedagon is Myanmar’s pride and joy. This gilded beauty is over 300m tall and dominates Yangoon’s skyline. It is the most sacred pagoda in Myanmar and hosts a 76 carat diamond at the very top. Come here early morning or around sunset to see the lighting change as you walk around it. I could have spent all day here but was able to see most of it in 3 hours
“The most challenging thing about traveling East Java, Indonesia, is the inevitable sleep deprivation. Every spot you want to see is hours away from each other, and almost all require hikes in the dark before sunrise, so we pulled several all nighters that week.
On our last morning of this insane schedule, we did a three hour drive starting at 3am in order to make it to this waterfall for sunrise. When we got to the top of the falls, I sent the drone up and realized just how worth it the send was. Not only was I able to capture the low hanging fog before it burned off for the day, but the volcano in the distance was glowing slightly pink, kind of like you’d see alpenglow in the mountains.
I’ve found that the trips that push me the hardest mentally and physically usually end up not only being the most memorable, but produce my best work. It’s Type 2 kind of fun, but this photo and particular trip were definitely a testament to that.”
