Before and after for you today. We used to only have one chair in here. Now we can technically seat 3 and have actually seated 5. It's the truth...."where there's room in the heart, there's room in the home".

We have also spent the last few days working steadily on the daubing. The outside is now finished which changes the look of it all amazingly. It really makes it feel solid and connected to the earth. It feels as bit sad to cover the beautiful woven hazel but an important layer. We needed to do the daubing before the thatching as otherwise it would just have been really awkward with the roof in the way. This also means that we can get a good connection between the thatch and the wall as the top rim is still soft enough for the thatch to bed in to it a bit.
Our lovely little home has found a new person to love and care for it 😭 We had the best time living tiny, but our new adventure awaits! It has been a busy year, and 2020 is going to be even busier! #tinyhousenz#adventure#alternativeliving

What did you have for lunch? In the browning home we had sourdough toast with pimento cheese, avocado an egg, turkey bacon & yellow peppers. With a side of grapefruit & blueberries. 💛 #Yum#eatyourcolors
We lie here quietly. Listening to nothing but the sound of the diffuser as it sends sweet scents into the air, easing your stuffy nose and rattling chest. I watch you feeding contently; your cheeks full and pink. I cherish these milky cuddles. You’re falling asleep now but still we lie here. Part of me thinks I could unlatch you, slide out from next to you and grab myself a rare nice hot bath. Most of me doesn’t want to so instead I’ll stay here to watch your chest rise and fall and to be your safe place when again you wake...

A skoolie conversion is not all smiles!
But last night I watched a @brenebrown talk on Netflix about vulnerability. One small takeaway (there were so many!) was that vulnerability is required in order to live a truly courageous life. It reminded me of just how big a risk we’ve taken to pursue this dream life. Even though it’s scary at times, it gave me renewed energy and encouragement that we are moving in the right direction and that is certainly a reason to smile.
To anyone who chooses courage over comfort today, give yourself a pat on the back and leave a 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏽♂️ in the comments so we can all support one another.
Some days things don’t go to plan. We spent the night at a monastery, after having had two peaceful nights at other monasteries we thought we would sleep well here, but that evening we got a knock from an angry monk who didn’t talk English. He left after a few minutes of repeating himself and us repeating Sorry, English only.
So we set off very early the next day to visit places near Skader Lake National Park. Our first place proved inaccessible with height barriers and a flooded underpass under the busy main road. Our second stop had a very persistent stray who would leave Roy alone and again was covered in rubbish, nice views though. The third stop was supposed to be a park and garden but turned out to be a tiny bit of tarmac with a basketball hoop right in the middle of a questionable residential area. Feeling uninspired and deflated we continued to our next spot. En route we noticed lots of cars parked with all their doors and boots open - we thought that was strange until we saw a family butchering a dead pig on their driveway and then another family doing the same to a pig in their garage. Perhaps they were airing their cars after transporting dead pigs in them?! Our fourth stop was a beautiful ferocious waterfall called Mini Niagara Falls. Unfortunately as soon as we got out the van with Roy we were greeted by a pack of barking angry looking dogs that came running at us. We made a hasty retreat back to the van to keep Roy safe and Laura and Agnes went to explore the falls which were incredible.

1000 followers! THROWBACK time!
Thanks for following along our journey we have loved every minute and all the people we have met so far.
Can't wait to meet even more of you.
Here's the first basic conversion Harley did 4 years ago. Since then he re-converted it into what it is now and we have had some many amazing adventures in this van.
We are currently rushing to finish our xlwb Iveco by end of jan which will be our home.
We wont be getting rid of the transit as it is converted to take Harley's racing motorbike to events. Good excuse to not have to say goodbye!
So, this is my abnormally large face - I don't usually take photos where there isn't a hand, or a hat or a baby covering it, so this is a big deal for me, but I've had several people tell me to stop hiding so here you go 😬
This face is currently working on a piece of art which should be finished by the end of the weekend and I'm hoping to share soon 🤞 I'm also attempting to lose weight and feel better about everything but mental health is a bitch 💀
But it seems like everyone you meet is struggling at the moment, and it's clear to see why to be honest. I think we all need each other now more than ever, so please try to be nice 🖤
No, I didn't stay there myself (are you kidding me?! I don't earn that much [yet, lol!]) but Jenna, the birthday girl did (she's a travel agent and they get the perks!). So I met up with her for frozen magueritas IN the pool and a tasty Italian dinner. They have MULTIPLE restaurants all around the gi-normous pool and they had a traditional Balinese music and dance performance in the evening.
I wished I had taken photos of the performance because I didn't end up making it to any other dance performances the whole time I was in Bali, damnit! 😔
Disclaimer: photo definitely not taken today.
Currently beached on that very couch with a roaring stove going. Smug.
The bureau was from a second hand furniture shpot at Broadway Market- kind enough to lend us their trolley to wheel her aboard. Some serious huffing and puffing involved getting her on. Had planned to sand and paint her but now... Not so sure.
Fixed stovetop/oven or camper stove?? I love how versatile a camper stove is yet I like the idea of a fixed stove that hides away under the counter top 🤔 thoughts? Gorgeous van by @endless_footsteps
