Ever since I was a kid, there was always a shameless little girl with a shameless confidence inside of me that would never listen to the bad. Sometimes I’d wonder why it never affected me, I’d ask myself “is this even right?” “Is it a good thing?” “Is it a really bad thing?” I very soon realised that I had the power to compartmentalise and understand the difference between constructive criticism and absolute bullshit. I have the power to smile, move along the way, with invisible headphones on, on my way to the top of the mountain. I listen to myself, so that whether I make it or not, I only have myself to blame, or congratulate. And I have my companion beside me- the little girl and her shameless confidence

When I was traded to the Jets from the Bears after Super Bowl 41 I never had a chance to say goodbye to my teammates, the fans or the city of Chicago. I didn't even go back to Chicago until 2011 when I was playing for Kansas City when we played Chicago which was one of the most awkward games I've ever played in. Me, Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs met at midfield for the coin toss and started trash talking like we used to in practice when I was on the Bears and the refs tried to break us up because they thought we were serious. Lol. You never know how much you miss the game and your teammates until it's over. Much love and respect to my brothers Jack Silverstein (@ashotonehlo) and Robert Schmitz (@r_schmitz) for putting together this Bears highlight video for me. I had the chance to play running back for the same team as Walter Payton. Someone I looked up to as a kid and still do. Chicago will always be a special place to me and I appreciate the love from the Bears fans and the people of Chicago always. Bear Down! 💪🏿 #ChiTown#OnceABearAlwaysABear#RestInPeaceCedricBenson
