🍎Vic's Apple Spread🍏(butter)
So when I went over to Sydney I forgot about my fruit bowl full of apples🤦♀️ Thankfully they hadn't gone bad, just not crisp anymore. I created this heavenly, thick glossy, caramelised spread. Spiced with #vicsspices English 🏴 spice this time.
You can use this for baking as a substitute for butter. Add it to yoghurt, granola, marinades, or just as a spread, scrumptious.
I'll be posting lots more apple based recipes keep a 👀 out.
What you need 👇
🔸1kg of apples, cored and roughly chopped (no need to peel them)
🔸 ½ cup of substitute sugar. I used @lakantoaustralia golden.
🔸Juice of one lemon.
🔸2 tbsp of English spice mix. Alternatively you can use pumpkin pie spice mix.
½ tsp of salt. #vicsspices click here or see my highlights 👆
What to do 👇
Preheat your slow cooker on high.
Place the chopped apples in. Mix together the sugar, lemon juice and spice mix, pour over the apples. Sprinkle with salt.
Cook for 4-5 hours, occasionally giving them a little stir.
Once the apples have broken down, using a stick blender, make into a sauce. If you like it chunky leave this step out.
Store in the fridge sealed in a glass jar, for upto a month.
You are welcome ☺️ ENJOY.
