🇬🇧 RELAXED STATE OF MIND 💦
We have been constantly on the go, typically moving every 5-6 days for the past 15 months - bouncing from one city to the next in anticipation to fill our days with new adventures but sometimes it's important to hit the pause button and just RELAX.
The most productive thing you can do for yourself is relax. So we are taking our own advice for once to JUST BE and it feels oh so good. Especially with a view like this!
It's way more impressive in person, but this was my favorite waterfall in Costa Rica. Catarata del Toro plunges 270 feet into a volcanic crater. It is surrounded by lush jungle with lots of birds, including a large variety of hummingbirds. It's a good day trip from San Jose and not too far from La Paz waterfalls, so you can do both in one day. I highly recommend it! #notsponsored
An eye opening experience meeting with some of the ladies of Pemsong Village. Brass rings fitted around their necks from childhood & more rings added as they get older. It causes the collarbone to sink resulting in the elongated neck, the rings only very rarely removed during their lifetime. Quite a surreal sight!
Walk by my side, I’ll be your friend.
Walk in front of me, I’ll protect you.

Sometimes all you need to brighten a day is a shift in your perspective🙃
I finally got the chance to get back out to the mountains yesterday. I’ve been spending so much time in cities that I almost forgot how rejuvenating it is to go on a nice long hike in nature 👣.
The weather was bleak and unfavorable, but something inside still motivated me to get out of bed at 4 am ⏰😴 just the same (partially something inside, partially my mans not letting me snooze in knowing I would regret it 🥰).
I was hoping for a beautiful sunrise view overlooking Mt. Rainier and downtown Seattle, but I knew when it was still misting that no such view would be revealed that day 🌧. We decided to push through nonetheless to enjoy the beautiful forest and fresh air.
Knowing there would be no view at the top helped me slow down and relish in the little things, like the way the trees tower above to form a canopy when you look up 🌲. Or the way the fall colors pop through clouds of fog and mist 🍁🍃. I have no regrets from this day, only an excuse to go back for a different perspective 😊.
