🍕So, in the evening we finally went to dinner at @mimosa_pizza, which for a long time there was a desire to get into, but there was not enough time and we ran past it. 👨👩👧👧 The hall was packed to capacity and we were seated at a table on the second floor. It was warm (and even hot 🥵 at the end of the evening) from the stone oven steam in the middle of the hall and of course the warm atmosphere around. Since we were here for the first time, we decided to try, in our opinion, the most interesting pizza 🍕, with slightly salted salmon 🐟, fennel 🥦 and cream cheese (photo 1-2, ~$10) 🧀.☝️We also ordered chicken soup 🍜 with homemade pasta (photo 3, ~$3,05) and spinach, baby pasta (~$2,15) and a couple of soft drinks (photo 6, ~$2,75 each)🍹 to brighten up the wait. Expect that with a full pizzeria you will wait for your pizza for at least 30-40 minutes, as was in our case. In the long wait, there was a plus, from above we studied the preferences of the audience in some detail, judging by the options of pizza that were in the oven, and then on the bar counter for cutting. 👨🍳 We also ordered the most popular pizza and tried it the next morning (read our previous post to find out which pizza is the most popular here 😉).
The long wait only woke up our appetite and the taste of salmon pizza, which finally appeared on our small table, was incredible! There were a lot of fillings, the dough was perfectly baked, so even the sides were eaten with olive oil and sauce, like in Italy.
😋 For taste, you can definitely set 9.5/10! This rating is also confirmed by the soup and children's pasta that has been eaten to the bottom. Tart in vanilla cream was also beyond praise. (photo 4-5, ~$3,76) 👍
💰 Prices, as we wrote yesterday, are slightly above average even for the Kyiv, in our opinion. 7/10

Contrary to what it seems, I still cook. Albeit not at the rate nor professional settings in which I am used to. The passion remains. Before culinary arts, there was history, and through history I was able to learn how food was integral to culture and identity. Family lineage and tradition exposed me to multiple facets of #americanfood#africandiaspora food # neworleansfood #gullahgeechee food the list goes on but more importantly it runs through my veins. I had ppl tell me to my face I'd never be a historian nor a chef. And, now two degrees and one fellowship deep I feel things are truly just getting started. I remember long before I was a student at JWU, in the army I had SSG's, SGT's and even officers tell me i would never become a chef, let alone finish college. They hated. When I made holiday dinners for my brothers @inodinwetrust@firstname.lastname@example.org in Vicenza, those days it felt like I had real family with me despite being hundreds of miles away from home. Creating memories and sharing the spirit of what food really brings to the table. Years later @JWU thank god I met @isaacpressley and established lifelong friendships. Genuinely cool brothas @flexthachef@fitzo22@twic3_bak3d that gave a damn about food and shared a love of cooking and knew it could bring us to places bigger than we imagined. Thanks to @sdotse89 I worked with a brilliant collective of black chefs in CLT that taught me directly and indirectly how I can expose the public to the vastness that is the African diaspora. I could go on for much longer but this is already extremely rare and a long post from me. The journey continues and much more is to come, I may not show it (reluctant social media user) but it's there. Food is more than what's on a plate, On God.

This Asian buffet is not just your regular average buffet.
It has colorful steamed baos, sweet sticky rice with mung bean wrapped in leaf, sesame balls (jian dui), some KBBQ, pho, and.. crunchy tacos. It also includes the typical Chinese and American fares, sushi and hibachi stations.
Desserts included: various fruits, coconut sago, 12 different Hershey's ice cream flavors, chocolate fondue with mallows.
Turning these juicy, meaty tomatoes into semi-dried tomatoes takes a lot of patience and care.
Our house made semi-dried tomatoes are perfect for cheesy sandwiches, pesto based pastas, mediterranean style salads and even just by itself..!
