I love how the rocks allow you to connect from lake to lake. This is what Fall would have looked like up here without the snow 😎 When I find areas like this that stimulate my senses I get into the overflow of joy zone!

“I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay.” -Gandalf✨🌺🌴
I’ve been trying to give more compliments in my everyday life. Sometimes it’s to a cashier with pretty nails, sometimes it’s to a new co-worker to give some encouragement, sometimes it’s to myself to stop negative self talk (it happens to us all).
Now reflecting on this, it’s been helping me stay a little more positive because I’m noticing the good in everyday. AND I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been more aware/present, but I’ve also been receiving more compliments too!
Try it out, maybe Gandalf (aka J. R. R. Tolkien) was right all along and it really is this simple ✨

“When we get so wrapped up in our heads, we miss out on what’s available to us right now in the moment. Stop and notice how you feel right now. Feel your breath moving in and out of your body. Feel the air on your skin. Feel your heart beating. Your eyes seeing. Your ears hearing. Feel the energy inside and outside of you buzzing. Shut off your thoughts and feel your connection to the universe. Find peace and joy in what simply is.” -Jen Sincerno Book: You Are A Badass

Being in Minneapolis this last weekend really tugged at the heart strings. I have no intention of moving back, which means I get to keep the years I lived there as a perfect snapshot in my memory ❤️

Tips for hiking with kids.
1. First and foremost, set your expectations and then slash those expectations in half. .
2. Dress appropriately for the weather. Pack a spare set of clothes and socks (especially for the kids). There may be puddles 🙄.
Don’t forget other supplies like sanitizer, sunscreen, hats, either. 💦 ☀️ 💨 .
3. Pack lots of snacks and drinks, like you might get stuck in a bear cave. Lollipops are great. They take a while to eat and you could walk at least 1000 feet before they ask for another one. 🍭 🍭 .
4. Gear – we use a hiking backpack carrier and also bring a spare carrier (Ergo) for the bigger kid to be carried on our back if the need arises. The “need” almost always arises. 🙈
5. Be prepared for lots of whining and remember to not get mad at them. You planned this and therefore brought this upon yourselves. 🤦♀️ .
6. Distract them by telling them there are wild animals in the woods (possibly true) and to help you be on the look out for them. BUT only do this if your kid is into this sort of thing and is not terrified of animals. 🐻 .
7. When preschooler whines that she’s tired, tell her this is no way to train to become Wonder Woman. Be prepared for 50 questions that follow about Wonder Woman’s training. 💪 .
8. Build some time in for the kids to wander and explore, safely. Let them climb rocks and touch things (within reason and safely).
9. Add an activity to the hike – like finding colorful leaves or pretty rocks, weird mushrooms... 🍄 .
10. When the hike is finished, reward the kids and compliment them for making it there! You’re probably sore from carrying the big kid uphill and mentally tired because of the whining and 10 breaks you took on a 2 mile hike. .
It’s a short two hour hike (for most). Maybe, next year we can hike this in under 3 hours? 😜 Happy Monday! .

From my last trip to Colorado! I can’t believe it took me so long to get out there but I’m thankful for every single reason I went and everywhere I’ve explored in this gorgeous state thus far. •
Where is your favorite place to go in Colorado?
Lastly, shout out to my amazing cousin @lyslefeb for everything, from choosing me to shoot your engagement photos, to being in your wedding, experiencing our first @alisonwonderland show at Red Rocks and at the Gothic, having the coolest dog, nicest husband and of course for opening your home to me. You’re the best 💛
This thanksgiving weekend I was exploring the Icefields Parkway and drove from Edmonton at 3am to catch this incredible sunrise... It was a treat with fog and the beautiful light. @Travelalberta was kind enough to set this trip up for us. Exploring these incredible places in @bmw X5 was like flying first class, go test drive one and you'll know that I'm talking about.

I have so many Maui photos to edit I can’t wait to share them with you all. This was from our first sunset. The sun passes in between the islands Lanai and Molokai. If there are clouds in the sky hold your breath and take a deep sigh. Close your eyes and soak it all up. I feel like we could do everyday. Whether a sunrise or a sunset, be grateful to be alive, have your health, have your family, have your friends, have a job. Life can come and go in a blink of an eye. Laugh more, fight less, turn the cheek when you are offended, take the high road. Learn to love more, serve others, help the needy, take care of the sick, think less of yourself. Your true self is found when you lose yourself and help and love others. Works every time

T H A N K F U L for these opportunities, these views, this province and these gorgeous mountains. 🧡Thankful for him and all the amazing people who have come into my life this past year and who have shared so many unforgettable adventures with me. 🧡Thankful for all of the love and support I have back home with all my awesome friends and family. 🧡Thankful for where I am now, for what I have in this moment and for what’s to come in the near future. So insanely thankful. 🧡☺️
In next posts I will alternate autumn pictures between East and West Canada . Contrasts are very spectacular.
No, here it's not a winter picture! It's last week! There's snow in almost all of my autumn pictures of Rockies. The autumn always visits winter to this time.
If you don't like cold weather and snow, it s best to choose the summer.😉

Every fall season I make this hike at Burgess Pass after walking Emerald lake tour. Why? There are very few people, this trail is protected from wind by conifers to the Pass. It’s very abrupt but easy and usually at this time there is less snow than Lake Louise. #nordik_dreams#hikingtheglobe
#britishcolumbia#montagne_my_life

Some of the PNW beaches I explored had such interesting and beautiful driftwood, like this incredible piece that used to be a tree’s roots. The driftwood come from fallen trees that wash downriver, into the ocean and then ashore onto beaches. Grown, shaped, stripped, smoothed, and bleached by the forces of nature into something so aesthetically pleasing and visually intriguing.
So do you consider something like this “art”? Just a philosophical question I find interesting… 🎨
