Bayon, with its mysterious stone face towers, is at the heart of the moated Angkor Thom complex, north of Angkor Wat. I've always though that the romantic notion of exploring ancient lost temples in some exotic lands as depicted in adventure movies have been satisfied and somewhat tempered by our previous visit of China's Great Wall and Egypt's Great Pyramids, but alas, the feeling came rushing back like a child coming to Disneyland for the first time.
Angkor Wat reflections. 💚💙. Originally a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, it was then transformed into a Buddhist temple. 💫
I was lucky enough to catch the gorgeous sunset on the way down. 😍
As @paulocoelho says: "DON'T FORGET: BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS NEED CLOUDY SKIES" 🌅
