Every year thousand of labours migrate from Nepal to hilly regions and other parts of India. They travel for weeks in search of work in adjacent regions of Nepal. Uttrakhand is one such destination for them. Being illiterate and having no social-security they generally end-up doing petty daily wage labourer work. While interacting to some them in Kedarnath and nearby areas indicated that they are highly motivated people around. They save most of their earnings to be sent to their families. Even in the coldest season they usually spent their nights in open spaces smoking Biri's (local cigarette) in search of warmth and in hope that this night shall also pass-by. Approximately, one in every 500 Nepalis men labourers go to bed after an exhaustive day of work and never wakes up.

Ok. Mid February, I miss summer. Big time. The beautiful days, the short skirts, the birds singing, the long days and fire on the evening.. But above all, the heat. You know, the kind of heat where your eggs start cooking when you drop them on the floor…….. AHHHH I can’t wait!
Ok.
