For those of you who don’t know me personally, what I project online through the power of the Holy Spirit is quite the opposite of my general disposition. I’m actually pretty quiet and introverted... unless you get me talking and are interested in going deep with me!! I do however have a whole lot of passion and God has placed a pretty big call on my little life. It is such an HONOR to FIGHT with all the MIGHT God has placed within my small frame for all the injustices in this world. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and the GLORY of God there is HOPE for a better world. 🔥💪☄️
11/20/17: "Yoga isn't linear. It's creative. It's about breath. It's about alignment. Yoga is meditation: stilling the waves of the mind, opening the heart, & learning to be brave & humorful in the face of life's inevitable obstacles" - Waylon Lewis is @walkthetalkshow .

Note- the classes at HCY are beginner friendly. I often post videos of my own practice but do not be discouraged. I have been practicing a long time. The more you practice yoga the deeper your practice goes both physically and emotionally. #practiceandalliscoming .

A big part of being a yoga instructor is thinking about transitions- how you move from one yoga posture to another. It takes mindfulness, creativity and grace. As we transition into a new year that is full of possibilities, I hope you too will use these things.

This is an extraordinary FAITH season where God will ask you to step out into things we wouldn’t dared have in the past but He is wanting to reveal His goodness to us in the middle of what looks impossible. When did we reduce the kingdom life down to what we can achieve? When did we make it about what is safe and comfortable? Those who dare to ride the wave of the unknown with nothing but God before them and a simple yes will see remarkable breakthrough in the days to come.. in fact this season is demanding it. Whatever you face today GOD HAS A WAY! There are spiritual loopholes and strategies God is going to use to get you where you need to be so don’t lose heart, this is the faith walk!
BE VIGILANT- don’t get caught up in hopelessness! My dad was shot by his best friend with a hollow point bullet. If I had gotten caught up in hopelessness after his death, I would have protested gun laws, gotten all frazzled about how we need better “mental health treatment” and I would not have been ok emotionally until I had seen him receive the worst possible punishment and/or received an apology from him. Neither of which I got. .
I was able to move forward in HOPE because the Spirit of God revealed to me the TRUTH and helped me shift my focus to what I could control. The truth is my dad is dead is because evil exists in this world. Hurt people hurt people, even if it’s themselves that they hurt. This is one of the ways evil moves through our world. We must recognize the part we play in it. We must work to truly heal our pain and make healthy choices ourselves. And the good news is, the Spirit of God can help!
I am grateful to Igniting Hope Ministries for all their wisdom on the importance of HOPE

Holiday drink is !
It’s called sipping Santa 🎅🏼 and it has all the holiday flavors !
I’d probably describe it as a tropical take on an eggnog drink.
I was honestly skeptical about this drink at first because it said it had ginger bread mix in it but oh my God I’m so glad I tried it!
and right next-door is @delray.cafe serving up some classic Detroit style hot dogs 🌭,burgers ,french fries , and wings!
The pricing is perfect to mix and match any food options!
but you don’t have to take my word for it go check out nickel city while they still have their holiday drinks you won’t regret it !

It is a bittersweet privilege it is to hold so many people’s stories in my heart. I am deeply saddened by all that I know from my work as a professional counselor about human suffering but I truly believe it has made my heart and hope grow ten times its size. .
“Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality” -2 Corinthians 8:13-14
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” - Romans 5:3-5

5/4/19: When I first bought the commercial piece of property in Pflugerville (that I was able to buy because of my parent’s giftings, hard work and smart decisions + a tragic unfortunate event) I bought it in order to build my business there. My earthy “plan” was that the building would be my retirement plan. I would sell it or lease it out when I was ready to retire. .
Today God revealed to me that actually that is not the plan. He said the ministry will go on long after me. .
And because I will be gifted funds to build the building for the business/ministry, I will be gifting my land when it’s time to retire. .
I rest assured knowing I will have more than enough “wealth” in this life and the next. ♥️🙏 .

In today’s culture I hear quite often that people feel they are entitled to their rage because of some trauma. .
I disagree. I think owning rage only hurts yourself and others. It’s ok to be angry but rage is anger OUT OF CONTROL. .
Rage can be turned inwards or outwards. Rage turned inwards often manifests as depression, self injurious behaviors, addictions or suicidal thoughts or actions. Rage expressed outwards causes chaos, division and unrest. And sometimes even death. My father was shot by a man in a moment of rage. .
You better believe I had some rage in me in my recovery but I learned to identify the difference between anger, sadness and rage. I found forgiveness in my heart for the seemingly unforgivable instead. .
God will heal your heart if you ask him, give it time and stay in faith. Pain patterns repeat if we don’t stop them. Pray to God to heal your heart today. His spirit is there to help you always 💔➡️❤️

God sees your pain- not just the pain from what you went through but the subsequent pain that has been inflicted upon you because we live in a broken world. Evil moves through this world through pain. Hurt people hurt people, even if it’s their self that they hurt. Forgive those who have hurt you, for they are in pain too. Forgive yourself. Get the help that you need to heal your heart. Evil does not discriminate - it moves through all races, social classes and religions. The purpose of evil is to divide and destroy- don’t be taken out. Healing IS possible. God wants to use your pain as fuel to help heal this hurting world through your testimony of healing; through light. 🔥♥️
I sent this to my family in an email on 10/7/17 (clickable link posted on FB) No one responded LOL. That's ok. They were probably wondering why in the world I was thinking about such things at 6am on a random Saturday morning. I now know that it's because I have been walking in the prophetic for quite a while now (before I even knew what that meant) and God was talking to me about some things. ♥️ Email Body:
This is the speech Theodore Roosevelt made right after he was shot. I had never read it before. So fascinating.
"One of the things that was alarming to me was the high incidence of sexual abuse within the lives of my LGBT clients. This is by no means a statement about all individuals who identify as LGBT. Actually someone pointed out to me that my observation is based only on LGBT who are seeking therapy. But either way, this was a truth I was seeing in the lives of my clients. The history of abuse has been undoubtably higher in that population.
History of abuse is one of the most tender and complex topics I have had the privilege of working with. This is not something that is easily recovered from, or even talked about. It is devastating and a true representation of evil in this world.
But what breaks my heart is, pain patterns repeat if the trauma isn’t healed. Hurt people hurt people even if it’s themselves that they hurt. I know of no better counselor than God, but there is a gap between the LGBT population and God, partly because the church has rejected them and partly because they have rejected God/the church because they believe they are already being rejected by God/the church" (link in IG bio)

5/17/19: In my 13 years of counseling I have observed that there is a very high rate of incest in the black community. It wasn’t until a black pastor @tg.gardner of @twfcdallas
discussed this publicly on social media through his series on deliverance, that I realized this is an issue that needs to be brought to light. .
Yesterday God showed me the extent of the multi- generational trauma involved in slavery. He helped me to "see" the actual weight involved in this atrocious operation of evil.
My heart was broken yesterday as I sat with God about this. And I feel He is wanting me to relay a message to the black community, and also to our divided world:
1. god sees your pain- not just the pain about your ancestors being enslaved but the subsequent pain that has traveled down through your family lines.
2. Evil moves through this world through pain. Hurt people hurt people, even if it’s yourself that you hurt. Forgive those who have hurt you, for they are in pain too.
3. Get the help that you need to heal your heart.
4. Evil does not discriminate - it moves through all races, social classes and religions.
5. The purpose of evil is to divide and destroy- don’t be taken out.
6. Healing is possible.
7. God wants to use your pain as fuel to help heal this hurting world through your testimony of healing; through light.
@atxfoodguy thanks for checking out our newest location here in Austin! 👊
Are you a fan of @southsidebbq out of Elgin?
Well, if you answered yes, you don't have to drive that far to get your fix any longer because they've opened their first Austin location in the @shopsarborwalk at 360 and MoPac. This is their two meat with their classic and well known sausage and some brisket with mac and cheese and pinto beans. When I hit an old Texas BBQ spot known for sausage I snag myself some saltines instead of bread to enjoy with my meal, the way things used to be.

It is both surreal and bittersweet when I think about the unfortunate events that led up to the fact that I own this precious piece of property on a major road in rapidly developing Pflugerville. .
The story of how I obtained it is miraculous. After going through two realtors, I found the gem of a lot on my own and I went to the seller directly. The owner was a sweet old man who’s family had owned property in Pflugerville for generations. He actually made the decision to sell it to me over a higher bidding buyer without making me go into a bidding war to obtain it. I cannot even believe the Providence here. ✨♥️ .
I have so much gratitude and love in my heart about this whole journey and with God’s help, I hope to build and create something truly beautiful... Something that will give back more than I can dream.

Last weekend (on my 40th birthday) I went on a Christmas date to the Bob Bullock Museum with my cousin (one of my stepmom Fran’s sister’s daughters) Alex @alejandrahill to see the Frank and Carol Holcomb Map Collection. My aunt and uncle had been collecting rare Texas maps that show the development and establishment of the great state of Texas. It was really neat to see. I told my uncle I have so much respect for their love of history and their devotion to preserve it. I also told him I would love to learn more about our family heritage. Apparently the first Frank Holcomb married the granddaughter of Jim Madden who was in Sam Houston’s army at San Jacinto in 1836. This makes me an 8th generation Texan. I am so proud of my heritage.
Also that next day I watched the movie The Revenant because it randomly (but not so randomly- I believe God wants me to learn about/contemplate this stuff) came through my IG feed and peaked my interest. The movie was an American survival drama between cowboys and Indians that depicted a brutal battle to stay alive in the wilderness and also seek justice/revenge on all sides. It was eye opening, disheartening and encouraging. What God is revealing to me is that everything was and is not black and white... there is good within evil and evil within good. Life is a difficult journey that takes resilience and endurance and it is integrity and love that make it beautiful. ❤️
