Deneb chilling at my feet while I haul hay bales for the cows. She hasn't been wanting to ride with me lately, it makes me a little sad, but she just has too much energy to ride in the tractor for too long!
A week after saying goodbye to Atticus, Harper and I drove to MT to spend a couple nights camping in my favorite place with some family. It was hard, but good, in the way that doing all those “firsts” without someone who should be there are. I’m finding that I’m seeking out all our favorite things (certain hikes, parks, this lake), almost as a way to lean into the grief.
What I can say is that I am eternally grateful to have Harper and Monsee, and for friends and family, near and far, who have provided meals and space for me to be heartbroken.
“People in the real world always say, when something terrible happens, that the sadness and loss and aching pain of the heart will ‘lessen as time passes,’ but it isn’t true. Sorrow and loss are constant, but if we all had to go through our whole lives carrying them the whole time, we wouldn’t be able to stand it. The sadness would paralyze us. So in the end we just pack it into bags and find somewhere to leave it.”
Does anyone else secretly wish for just one rainy gloomy Sunday? I have loved the weather the last several weekends and the sunny days have guilted me into a whole lot of hiking, running and outdoor time with my homeslice @aussiedogpiper. However, part of me would love nothing more than reading a book on the couch all day, listening to the rain and downing mimosas.

Can’t even do chores without my mom taking a picture smh she’s so obsessed w me. 🤦🏼♀️.
So thankful for this weekend just gone. Met some great folks, lots of art chats, saw my work in this brilliant space thanks to @milkfactorygallery in Bowral, got to finally stop in and see the fabulous @satchandcogallery in Holbrook, meet Amy and her family from @ivy.and.art in Jugiong, and most importantly I got to bring my best mate Diz along for the ride, wouldn't have been the same without her, she's a show stopper and I talked more about Disney than my art 😜 feeling overwhelmed with the response to my work, exhibition runs til the 30th of October, go check it out if your in Bowral 🙌🏼 Home now after a big drive home last night, well worth it to see my fam and @mountain_stone_farm ....a day on the couch is looking pretty good right about now, then back at it tomorrow to get ready to do it all again in 5 weeks for the @theotherartfair Sydney 🚘
Meet Leo’s little brother! Go and follow his adventures to watch him grow into his personality. We plan to have lots of puppy play dates! @_keepingupwithkota_ (NOT OUR PUPPY just a cutie from the same mom and dad)
