Today is Steve Irwin’s birthday, as well as his mother Leslie’s too. I was at his zoo- @australiazoo on July 4, 2004. A dream come true for me! Steve wasn’t there (he didn’t do the croc feeds that day). He got into a little mess when he was filming in Antarctica, he was accused of “petting the whales” (was on the news while I was in Australia), and if I saw one out filming for his show? I would of petted it too! 😉 But I had a fabulous time while there. It would of been the highlight of my life to of met him there, but life happens. You are missed Steve, and your message of Conservation continues today through your zoo, family & countless #WildlifeWarriors carrying on your message. You are missed, but you were loved. Happy Birthday Steve! #SteveIrwin#CrocsRule#HappyBirthday#AustraliaZoo#LeslieIrwin

I wanted to share these photos of the animals I’ve been blessed to be able to work alongside with my time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Today is the birthday of a man who changed the face of wildlife conservation forever. I cannot explain the passion and love he gave me for this planet and these animals at such a young age and his family and his legacy still inspire me everyday. Steve may be gone today but his dreams and goals and passion lives on everyday in the work @bindisueirwin@robertirwinphotography@chandlerpowell Terri Irwin and everyone @australiazoo do to help the world grow and learn more about how every single one of us has the power to make a difference and live alongside these amazing animals.
Thank you for loving this planet, it’s animals and it’s people. My heart is with you today.
It is their world and we need to help them, cherish them and protect them. We need to learn from these animals. They are our future.
We can change the world. Support local AZA Zoos and Aquariums and Sanctuaries, go out and explore and learn these are amazing creatures. .

“My job, my mission, the reason I’ve been put onto this planet, is to save wildlife. And I thank you for comin’ with me. Yeah, let’s get 'em!” Steve Irwin
Happy birthday Steve, things have never been the same since you left us.
Happy Birthday Steve 🥳💚💛
Funny story about this day. I went to go check out the show in the stadium @australiazoo because @bindisueirwin and @robertirwinphotography were performing. If I remember correctly, Robert was playing with gators. Keep in mind he was like 12 😂
One of the trainers comes out onto the floor with a badass bird of some sort. He chats for a bit and then let’s the crowd know the bird is still in training. Welp, long story short, the thing took flight, circled the stadium, then called an audible and exited stage left. Witnessing the dude scrambling after it left me as conflicted as I’ve ever been. In the end, the laughter prevailed 😂🤣 #steveirwin#steveirwindsy#australiazoo#crikey
Today is a special day because on this day a great, passionate, and gentle man was born. He would follow in his parents footsteps to care for all animals and to try and save their habitats. No matter the danger to himself, he would always do his best to make sure an animal would not come to harm from people or themselves. Later on he would star in his own TV show with his wife, and later his children, to share his experiences with the world and teach as to why we need to protect our wildlife and their home. It is because of him that I have wanted to pursue a life of similar acts and want to go to his zoo and work with his family. I am honestly scared of most things sadly, but because of him, I strive to try and overcome that fear and save these animals however possible. Steve Irwin will always have an impact on my life and I will do my best to make sure his lessons are passed on. Love you, mate💙🐊🐢🦎🐍🦜🐸 #crikey#crocsrule#australiazoo
Happy Birthday to the legendary late Steve Irwin 🐊 Steve's love for animals began from a young age. For his 6th birthday he was gifted an 11-foot python and by age 9 he was already wrestling crocs, which then lead to his work in helping relocate endangered saltwater crocodiles to safety. Not only has his catchphrase 'crikey' become widely popular, a new turtle species he discovered and a snail found by an Australian scientist have also been named in his honour. Today we acknowledge his life, achievements and legacy. 💚 @Australiazoo

Koala story : the minute I clapped eyes on a live Koala I really wanted to hug one ! (Like, really, really wanted to hug one)
and even though Australia Zoo is not like any zoo I’ve ever been to before, (it’s full of great people doing great things for the world ) I didn’t want to pay for a hug.
I just prayed maybe one would fall out of a tree into my lap while I was there or something like that!
So when I WON a hug I was soooo excited !
Here’s my excited face and some other shots, thanks for the captures @bnjmncraig #answeredprayers#australiazoo#koala
Today is Steve Irwin’s birthday, a man who inspired me ever since I was a child, I try to show the beauty of animals through photos because this man inspired me to try show wildlife and nature. I love Steve Irwin’s movies and documentaries. The Irwin family is still continuing his life’s work. I hope to be able to visit Australia zoo one day.
R.I.P you legend
You will be remembered forever Steve! ❤️

Meerkats, who doesn’t love them.
Their little personalities, teamwork and value of family, that and they seem down right cheeky.
We could have stayed here and watched these guys run around for hours.
My brother, @dtownson is absolutely Meerkat obsessed. He booked an additional experience with them which was so awesome. The little guys were eating out of his hands and crawling all over him and using his head at their lookout point haha. Check out his page for the epic shots he got.
Today is a very important day for TTWAAR and its followers. Why, you ask? Because today is Steve Irwin's birthday, that's why.
Steve Irwin is possibly one of the most radical dudes you will ever learn about in your brief and miserable mortal existence, not only because he just went about pissing off animals to both educate and entertain the people of the world, but because he also happened to be a pretty swell guy, too.
He had been wrangling crocs and caring for wildlife since he was a kid alongside his old man, and I guess those are some pretty important life skills to put on your CV when applying for a role in a zoo because eventually that is exactly where he found himself, in his dream job at Australia Zoo. Whilst working here he had a brief encounter with a vacationing American named Terri, and the two hit it off so well they would eventually marry, and then spend their honeymoon wrestling crocodiles. He also took his one month old son with him to a crocodile feeding show, which for some reason people were upset about, as though they didn't get how cool Steve was and how this was textbook Steve coolness at play.
He was eventually released from his human shackles and free to take his seat by God's side via a stingray attack in 2006, which was a total bummer, but death by animal was most likely the way Steve always expected to go, so we can all take comfort in that. He also has a turtle species and a road named after him, which I imagine is a first for anyone.
Were there any animals he was scared of?
We remember you fondly Steve, I only hope animals do go to Heaven, because otherwise that is no Heaven for you.
It’s incredible to think that this time 28 years ago Steve and Terri were planning their wedding. Steve proposed to Terri on February 2nd 1992 right here at #AustraliaZoo . Their love and dedication has inspired us all and we’re proud to be continuing their amazing work today with Terri as our fearless leader. ❤️
