A perfect belly landing 😳. This a guidance for tower/approach controllers on what to expect from an aircraft experiencing the effects of landing gear problems and some of the considerations which will enable the controller, not only to provide as much support as possible to the aircraft concerned, but also maintain the safety of other aircraft at or in the vicinity of an aerodrome and of the ATC service provision in general.
Landing with main/nose gear that might not be locked/fully extended could result in:
Landing with partially extended undercarriage;
Gear collapse with subsequent airframe damage.
All of the above could by followed by runway excursion and post-crash fire.
Suggested Controller's Actions
Best practice embedded in the ASSIST principle could be followed: (A - Acknowledge; S - Separate, S - Silence; I - Inform, S - Support, T - Time).
Apart from the above mentioned, a controller should: -Transfer affected aircraft to another frequency, if applicable;
-Maintain close coordination with ground emergency units - an early call could facilitate more effective deployment of resources;
-Have direct contact with aircraft operator’s technical representative (if possible) - any result of a visual inspection should be passed to the crew without delay.
-Be prepared to provide a wider range of information to the crew on request.
-DO NOT certify the down and locked position of the landing gear - visual inspection during low pass should be done by qualified personnel. If not possible, the tower controller should provide information about landing gear not extended or only partly extended to the aircraft concerned without delay.
-Use the proper phraseology as recommended by ICAO for such events, i.e. “The landing gear appears down” and “Landing gear appears up”.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting this amazing young man the other day.
His name is, Micah Fowler, and he has a condition known as cerebral palsy.
Although his life is impacted by this condition, he is nothing short of a true inspiration.
Against all odds and having a million more reasons, than the average individual, to not want to be successful, he has persevered as a young man, as well as when he was child, to become an accomplished American Actor.
God has a funny way when dealing the cards of life.
Some individuals are dealt with more fortunate hands than others.
Some complain that it’s not good enough. Some don’t realize how fortunate they are. And for most, well, they take it for granted.
Micah, is living proof that no matter what hand God has dealt, it is in your control on how you play it.
Micah, was nothing but kind, gracious, humble, and with a constant smile on his face.
His enthusiasm and happiness was contagious. He was just as excited to take a picture with me, as I was to take one with him.
He assured my beliefs, that life is indeed what you make it and that, sometimes, life can be unfair.
But with a positive attitude, an overwhelming passion, and a strong work ethic towards any goal or dream, absolutely anything is obtainable.
You inspire me, @micahdfowler , and our encounter will have an everlasting impact on how I view life.
