Here’s a throwback to one of my favorite moments at SEMA. @backdraft_racing they were so cool to me. They spent time with me showing the car and I asked how well tall guys (I’m 6’2”) could ever fit, they let me sit in their car that’s built for tall (and extremely handsome lol) dudes.
1st: I fit perfectly.
2nd: Do you know the rush you get sliding into a Cobra’s driver seat? It’s a feeling like...like, this is probably the coolest I’m ever going to be. This must be why @stevemcqueen was so damn cool, he was sliding into these pure adrenaline fueled rides all day and it became apart of him.
3rd: Imma own one someday.
I had the pleasure of working with Backdraft Racing the other day. What a great company. They build top quality hand built automobiles… not even sure if they really qualify as “replicas”. They have so much more engineering than the originals.
Now that the GenIII Coyote crate engine/control pack combo is out, they started using them as an option for their vehicles. Unfortunately some engineering requirements caused them to have to alter a few aspects of the engine requiring custom tuning… and that is where Tuning by James LLC comes in! Open up the HP Tuners software, and in just a few keystrokes and we got them running like a dream!
Keep in mind that being a production vehicle, we are keeping with the spirit of the Ford Racing control pack calibration. We were not chasing a horsepower number. This is all about drivability and consistency. I mean really, at 2400lb, 430 wheel horsepower should be more than enough to satisfy most customers… and in the rare case that it is not? Give me a call! I can help with that too!
Also, big shout out to Thunder Autosports in Boynton Beach. They were the dyno of choice for Backdraft, and Steve was a huge help. Great experience.
A very merry Christmas and happy holidays from all here at Cobra Experience, we wish you an incredible time with family and friends 🎄
