January seems such a long month but… we’re already halfway through! The nights are slowly drawing out, the first daffodils have started popping through and the birds are more chatty, all hopeful signs that Spring is around the corner. Looking back through our customers photos, this one made me smile, bright, cheery and full of optimism for many BBQ evenings with family and friends ahead. We were fortunate to have some blue sky, sunny days early last year so keeping my fingers crossed for the same this year! I’m not a great gardener, more a cut grass and nice planters kind of person. Have you started thinking about your outside space yet, any simple ideas you can share?
Chinese Water Deer on today's outing! Also had Merlin, 3 Barn Owls, Hen and Marsh Harrier, Red Kite, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Kingfisher, Green Woodpecker, Muntjac, Hare, Rabbit, Lapwing, Teal, Willow and Marsh Tit! Pretty awesome day!
Spent most of the day in Richmond Park.
It was around -2°C first thing with plenty of frost and ice. When I arrived at Pen Ponds for the sunrise I didn't expect to find around twenty Red deer swimming across the lake!
Something I've never witnessed before never mind in this weather.
This little bird has been our nemesis for more years than I can remember!!! We've had fleeting glimpses in the distance, but we've never had a 'good' sighting!! Today we sat down to pour ourselves a coffee, at our usual bench at Arne RSPB reserve and what should pop up in the gorse bush right in front of us 😮 Two very happy chappies 😍
