Some days you just need a reminder that better days are ahead and that we’re all in this together. ☀️ If you’re enjoying any good books or adventure related activities at home, share some recommendations below.
I'm convinced that if I never left #Australia none of this would have happened... I miss #traveling ☹️ but I had to come back home for my boys 🐾 unless I found a way to bring em to Australia with me 🤔 .
I think it's Sunday, but I'm not positive as one day runs into the next. Is that happening to you also? I took a ride to the beach the other day just for some fresh air and inspiration. Even just looking at it makes me feel better! I hope you're finding things to do that make you happy. Sometimes it's nice to slow down. Stay well.
Here is a Cape Cod sunrise from the Judah Baker Windmill Beach in Yarmouth. It’s going to be rainy and gray the next few days. So I will be pulling from my March 2020 archive for the next few days. It’s bad enough we are staying home, adding these gray days doesn’t help😩 I am hoping everyone is doing well during this chaos🙏🏻🙏🏻
One of the perks of having friends who study in Manipal is that you get to visit beautiful beaches and lush green backwaters in and around Udupi. We decided one day to go to Mattu beach, a beach I fell in love with. A place worth staying in forever, to take walks at sunrise and sunset, to hear the waves crash and allow ideas to churn in the mind.
Who else loves secluded beaches??!! 🏝 We have been to Water Island (St. Thomas/Virgin Islands) twice and both times there have been hardly any people there! There’s a small restaurant (Heidis Honeymoon Grill) and a bar too ☀️🌊🍻 link in bio about how to get to Water Island and all the details!
Sometimes I wish someone had come along and told me much sooner about the old magic flowing through new places if you brought the right person and packed the right kind of thermos and boots and warm hat and Robert Pinsky volumes with doggy ears on the pieces you weren’t ready to hear. I am waiting for you to tell me. I am ready to listen. You brought the right things in an old tote I promised to wash and I don’t know how to be fenced in but I’m waiting for you to draw a map and whisper some homestead lengths into my ear with the force of language. If there is an expanse of light we have overlooked it is because the blinds were drawn and I am here. I am ready. I am grateful for the hidden things we’ve saved for one another.
Looking for a beach that’s secluded and not too crowded? Playa Kikitas is a hidden little gem in the town of Dorado where you can spend the day relaxing on the beach or surfing if that’s your thing! Make sure to visit this spot on your next trip to Puerto Rico! 🌴🌊🇵🇷🏄♂️
