WOW! After a summer on the water with orcas I got to see them yesterday FROM LAND 😮! I've always loved land based whale watching because there's no disturbance; but I've never been as lucky as yesterday where we had them pass by just beneath our feet! We saw some epic behaviour too including breaching, spyhopping and tail slaps. Just waiting for a photo ID confirmation but I think they're the endangered southern residents 😍. What's the best thing you've seen out hiking?!
Bookworm friends! What books did you read this summer? ⠀
I read so many great books this summer!!! I think my favorite by far (with many close seconds) is Lori Gotlieb’s “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” I could write an entire post on this book! An inside look at a therapist’s world, her clients, and her own therapy sessions. An ode to the beauty of human emotions and therapy! Yes!!!⠀
Other book recommendations from Summer 2019: ⠀
- “What Alice Forgot” Liane Moriarty ⠀
- “Matchmaking for Beginners” Maddie Dawson⠀
- “Tribe of Mentors” @timothyferris ⠀
- “Gifts of Imperfection” @brenebrown ⠀
Tea Recommendation(s): Trader Joe’s Herbal Supplement and @tazo classic chai. Just do it. ⠀
Also, this. This. Is. My happy place 💆🏻♀️

My first time seeing this view was last year, and completely by accident. Long before I'd start using topo maps for backcountry trips, when basically anything not on the trail, or pre planned, would probably end up being overlooked. I took a chance at sunrise, having been satisfied with the direction I went the night before, and decided to walk in a different direction. Then lake after lake started to appear, a total of five different ones slightly hidden from view. This was my favorite set of the bunch. Right as the first light shines over the ridge line and blasts into the valley below, and long shadows drape over the lake.
