this is Min Kumari.

and never saw the horizon.

Himalaya memories // swipe for series
The last 3 months were strange. With the world coming to an abrupt stop, billions of people around the globe were forced to slow down. For some it’s been a welcoming break to pause, to breathe and to reflect, while others were immediately pushed into a fierce battle for survival. And even though my thoughts are with the latter, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the country I live in and the friends & family that surround me.
While working my way through the archives last week, I found lots of comparisons between these current times of quarantine and my journey through the Himalayas. The unpredictability, the stillness, the mystery. Both periods forced me to disconnect from the reality of my fast-paced every-day life and both were a gentle reminder that when life is elemental, there’s a lot more room for appreciation. A phrase that’s been further growing on me since the very start of this pandemic. Fewer things, fewer thoughts. Something to pursue even more when all of this is over.
In many ways, that particular journey in 2018, has been one to remember forever and I actually haven’t been sharing much about it here on Instagram. Beating thin air while suffering from cracked lips, ice-cold showers, irrational fears, burned skin, sleepless nights and vivid dreams. We sweated, laughed, cried and learned. Made new friends and were greeted with genuine smiles on every corner. But at the same time, we’ve been swallowed by these mountains and spat out again. Multiple times. But only there, right at the edge of breaking, is where the magic happens. When taking deeper breaths, silencing irrational thoughts, calming a racing heart and when telling yourself you’re ok. Because when stretching your limits, you’re learning about the world and about yourself. And that’s the one and only true definition of adventure. And I freaking miss it.

I took this photo 3 years ago yesterday. It is the image that keeps going through my head this week as I watch my country, state, city and community implode. It seems like it was another blip in my timeline of life from long ago.
I keep thinking of being the minority. I realize I was a visitor and in some ways a guest of honor, but there is a lot from that trip that keeps coming to mind right now.
There is a lot that all of us need to learn, to accept, and to love about the people around us in spite of our differences. Choose to see the differences and embrace them.

If these statements were not some brainwashing BS from people watching Fox news, etc, I would have been really concerned for the state of our American residents.
However, having these statements post on our campaign page, reiterate my stance on justice, equity, and equality.
I think I would have been more worried if we were getting love notes from people who thinks this way.
So let me say it again!
I Believe in Justice, Equity, and Equality for impacted, impoverished, discriminated, underserved, suppressed, oppressed, and unjust prejudicial treatment for all of our communities that are directly suffering, hurting, and dying under this current fascist administration's regime, from the Federal, State, and Local government Trifecta.
We are ready to connect with you tonight as we come together online for our midweek gathering. Worship kicks off at 7PM! #TheTAB#BecausePeopleMatter
within nenet culture, men spend most of their time outside, preferably alone, no matter the conditions. as a result, during my stay i often found them leaning against a sled or simply standing in the midst of a snow storm, staring off into the abyss. just them and their thoughts, such a powerful thing // in fact, this reminded me of the answer a tibetan monk once gave me when i asked him why silence is so important to him: ‘so you can hear yourself’ // yamalo-nenets, siberia, russia

Where you at today with your anxiety? ✅- Livin’ my best life
🤗- Kinda need that hug ☄️- It’s creepin’ up on me
🔥- Anxiety is on Fire!
We all struggle a little bit with being anxious. Some days are good, some days not. Thankfully, God is not an “out-of-touch” God, He knows our worries and thankfully has given a ton of tools 🛠 to help us in our anxiety, one of them is found right here in this awesome scripture 👇
“Don’t worry. Instead of being anxious, pray. Let praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Pray some about it, get some other people to pray with you. Prayer is POWERFUL 💪 and can really help us in our battle against anxiety. Let us know if we can pray for you. You can also join us tomorrow and Friday at 12pm over on Facebook for live prayer 🙏 #turnthetide 🌊 #prayerispowerful #becausepeoplematter
Went out after work finished for a bit of a drive and saw this sign on the side of the @hopecentre .. it shouldn't need to be said but the sign says PEOPLE matter.. not this person because of their skin colour or that person because of their wealth... but "PEOPLE" as in ALL PEOPLE!!! #becausepeoplematter

For thousands of people all over the world, pain is a very real thing that they deal with every single day. Though pain can feel overwhelming, it is important to remember that hope can overcome anything. This bold typography design shows that we can get through storms, and inspire others along the way. Pain is real, but so is HOPE.
🇦🇺 I’m not really good with social media, I don’t always post things here, but I thought I could use this platform to honor, encourage and share some good memories with some incredible people that I have the privilege to know. ——->
The first time I met Daniel, I thought , this guys is it’s pretty cool. He had been to where I’m from in Brazil a few times, he surfs and speaks some words in Portuguese and Spanish. But, times went by and I got the privilege to know him better, I found a good and faithful friend, friend for a life time, a very interesting person, really intelligent, great thinker, a brilliant communicator and natural entrepreneur. @danielpiltz I’m so grateful for your live, love everything we already did together, and looking forward for the many things we will do in future. Love you bro. God has so much more to do through your live. #becausepeoplematter ➖
#porquepessoasimportam

When he’s not stuck battling Zoom in an attempt to teach design to his eager Riverside City College Padawans, he can be found harassing celebrities with fanart. This gorgeous little ragamuffin caught my eye as she was amusing herself with an empty egg carton amongst the trashy rubble she would call ‘home’. It is estimated that 18 million children in India are homeless. .
